Such beautiful string
I love these string so much, they have been my go to for the past few years. You open em up, smell that beautiful scent of earthy bronze, and put these bad boys on your strings and play. They sound so warm and vibrant, and have such a great feel in between your fingers. It isnt too soft and it has just the right amount of crunch. I dont exactly know how to describe it but these strings are amazing. I highly recommend them.

John Pearce are Wonderful acoustic guitar strings.
John Pearce are Wonderful acoustic guitar strings. Well balanced sound. I use them on my Martin and Taylor acoustic guitars. I prefer the extra light gauge phosphorus bronze P500XL stings, 10-47. Easier to bend the strings and easier on the fingers. Yet a balanced and full sound. No need to go heavier.

Highly subjective but similar to others IMO
I know people who swear by these. I’ve tried them a few times on a couple guitars. I often have issues with my low E going dead before my other strings and I’m fairly certain it’s because I like to play in a few different tunings and I often go back and forth between standard and drop d. So the low E is getting tuned up and down enough that I’ve accepted I just have to change strings more often until I can afford to acquire a couple more guitars that I can just keep in the various tunings I play in frequently, which is likely going to be a while. As far as these are concerned, the JP PB mediums, I neither liked or disliked them much. I’m giving a four star rating because I think they are as good as most and probably better than some. But they were not my favorite. For what it’s worth, I preferred Martin SP PB mediums to these. My low E went dead really fast, in less than a week and I had only retuned a few times. I tried the JP 80/20 mediums on the same guitar. Different. I actually liked the sound a lot (better than the ones I’m reviewing), but the high G string broke after less than two weeks. In the last three years I’ve only broken one other string, and it was after they were a month old. Anyway, my advice would be give these a shot and see what you think for yourself. String preferences are so subjective. You might love them or you might find them just okay like me.

EXCELLENT
I have used every guitar string known to man and I can say these are the best on my guitar!!Have beed playing for 40 plus years and the strings have a nice bright edge to them plus they last a long time!!I tune these down to D and they are still tight yet they bend well for the blues!!!My guitar style is I can play anything, finger style, flat pick, hybrid, crosspick and these strings hold up to any type of playing..Pearse uses bell bronze and these strings are much brighter then his 80/20!!!All other srrings the opposite is true!! If you want a slightly warmer tone then use his 80/20!!Oh I tune down because It's hard to hit those high notes!! I play a couple of hand made Somogyi guitars and he sends his guitars out with John Pearse strings only!!! I also use his light and med and they sound just great!! I use light and med on my 12 string both tuned to pitch and pearse gives the guitar that nice high harpsacordal high pitched sound, kinda like McGuinns 12 string rick but better!!!!Pearse strings are the best and never had a failure!!!

GREAT STRINGS but...
For the product I leave a lot of stars for it because it is a very high quality string. This is my first time trying this brand and I am so pleased with the quality. I think the sound of these strings for my guitar is not the best fit though, for the tone I am trying to get out of it (music nerd stuff). The strings really bring the mids out of the guitar with a more Mild tone that provides good sustain and a nice warm sound. The guitar I put them on has a maple back and sides, maple being good a reproducing treble sounds. And this guitar soars on treble and mids. Not so much with bass. If it were a primarily basswood (mahogony, rosewood, etc) guitar I guess the strings would sound great on the guitar and I'd continue using them. But as it is I've lost that High end awesome tone that made me stop using coated strings because they reproduced less of it. So I was using plain non coated strings before of a different brand and just heard these and their quality. Well I found out the quality of these is GREAT, but just not the reproducing the tone i want for this one guitar. I would try them again on my other acoustic for sure. If you like the Milder tones and Warmth, etc these are a sure bet!

Nice sound!
These are nice premium quality strings. I installed them on my Gretsch G-5022CE jumbo acoustic. Great sound, clear highs and lows that were not muffled. I have been using Stringjoy strings for my guitars and these are comparable. Will I continue using this brand... probably not. I really like the Stringjoys and like that the Stringjoy company is a small company, not a major corporation. But you will be happy with the John Pearce strings.

As promised
Not sure I would have thought anything special about these strings except that they do indeed temper the bright brassiness, so to speak, of my Taylor 214ce. I'm editing this to add that they last longer than other strings I've had. They don't get hard on the fingers as fast. They are going to be my go-to strings.

So far, great strings!
I’ve been looking for light gauge acoustic guitar strings. I’ve tried several and this brand and gauge seems to be really great. Only had them on the guitar for a few weeks, but so far they sound great. Excellent tone. I would highly recommend these for any acoustic guitar guitar player, looking for extra light gauge strings. I will definitely buy these again!
