Fits my Hakko 880 and works as described
I do a lot of 3d printing and wanted to upgrade bolt connections. So I looked at the thread adapters and wondered how to get them inserted. I saw this and purchased it. They fit my Hakko 880 soldering station and work perfectly with the temperature I have it set for soldering. I put the thread insert on the plastic, position it, then press lightly on the top with these tips in the soldering iron and eventually (within 20-30 seconds) the insert starts sinking in the plastic. Just make sure to predrill the holes appropriately to allow for them the be inserted without too much of the hole being refilled by the plastic being pushed down upon. I usually use a drill bit the side of the insert barrel less the grips. I've inserted several dozen so far and have been happy with the purchase.

Bought for a Voron build. these worked perfectly, & better then the included one from kit!
I have only used 2 of the products, but of the 2, both worked flawlessly & allowed to heatset into the plastic more efficient than the one that was supposed to be exact fit from a different kit. Recommended!

2mm wide, but for M2.5 inserts NOT for M2 inserts
I bought these because I needed the M2 insert. Unfortunately, it's not made for M2 screws: the end bit is far too wide to fit inside the insert (it's 2mm wide, while M2 screws are at most 1.9mm across). Luckily it was brass and i have a dremel, so I wound up filing it down to fit. It's not great and sometimes gets stuck due to the rough surface, but I guess that's what I have to deal with.Incidentally, it DOES fit just fine for M2.5 inserts, so I'm guessing this is just a mislabeling / someone not reading specs correctly before throwing it up on Amazon. :\

Does not fit weller wesd51
saw title said it fits weller but it doesnt fit weller model WESD61, i ended up using the default soldering tip on my weller wesd51 and it worked just fine. so i guess this is not needed anyway.

Works
Only used these once to weld a 3d plastic pieces my son in law made. Seems to hold up as he has no complaints

does not fit m3
These are 2 pairs of the same item, and none of them fit m3. Luckily I have a lathe and could turn one of the larger ones down. Save yourself some trouble, and get these from an honest dealer

RECOMMEND MODIFICATION BEFORE USE IN HAKKO FX-880D SOLDERING IRON WAND
I ordered this set of insert specific soldering iron tips for my HAKKO FX-888D which has an FX-880D soldering iron wand as I do a lot of 3D printing and have been using various inserts for a long time. Usually I do a press fit, but there are times that I need to do a heat fit on an insert to really lock it into he plastic.ABOUT THIS SET: This set include 4 tips, but only 2 sizes which I’ll refer to as SMALL and LARGE. Each size has 2 usable “steps”, one at the tip and a larger diameter above it. These two steps extend past the wand’s retention sleeve.PROBLEM: Before inserting a tip onto and over the wand’s thermal sensor I took some measurements and right off I can see that the the cavity that goes over the sensor is not deep enough: this was true for all 4 tips. Here are some measurements as a reference:Hakko Tip Depth: 23.08mmHakko Sensor Length: 21.92mmInsert Tip Depth: 21.38mmDifference: 21.38 - 21.92 = <-0.54mm>Reference: See picture with gap. This means that when you put the sleeve over the insert tip you run very real chance of damaging the delicate HAKKO temperature sensor.MY FIX: Not wanting to waste these tips I took the time to drill out the insert tip’s to a depth of 22.3mm +/- 0.3mm using a 4mm drill and a drill press: Do NOT use cutting fluid or oil during the procedure. I wrapped the tips with electrical tape to keep from damaging their exterior. I removed the tape’s residue adhesive with isopropyl alcohol, and cleaned out the cavities with cotton swaps. Now they fit over the sensor without putting any pressure on it (See pictures)3D INSERT FIT TESTS: I found that these tips will work on the following 3D inserts which I have in stock. Your milage may vary…TEST TERMS:Contact Only: Preset the insert - Tip does not engage insert opening.Loose Fit: Preset the insert - Tip will engage top of or enter insert opening. No Go: Probably should use an appropriate soldering iron tip here.Perfect Fit: Insert fits over tip nicely, no need to preset insertPress Fit: Preset the insert - Use insert tip to heat up. No engagement.Size Test Results:4-40: Small Tip - Perfect Fit6-32: Small Tip - Loose Fit10-24: Large Tip - Loose FitM2: No GoM3: Small Tip - Loose FitM4: Contact onlyM5: Small Tip, Ring 2 - Press FitCONCLUSION:Why the manufacture didn’t extend the interior to a safe depth is befuddling… Also, I’m surprised that there aren’t 4 different sizes instead of just the 2. Still, if you don’t minding doing some modifications you can get these to safely function as shown above.RATING: 2/5 Stars because, they are useful after modifications. Please help me help you: If this review was helpful, please click the Helpful button below as that helps me know that I'm providing useful information.

Absolutely not a good fit for M3 inserts
The smaller tip is only 1.98mm in diameter, there's way too much slop when attempting to install an M3 insert, so forget about any sort of accuracy when trying to place it. The only positive was that it did fit into a Weller SP40 soldering iron as advertised.

Disappointed with description
The picture shows four tips. The written description says 10pcs. The "package list" also lists 10 pieces. The picture is right and the written descriptions are wrong - there are only 4 pieces in this packet. Also be aware that there are only two different sizes in this packet. (That is actually evident in the photos). On the plus side, they do fit my Hakko soldering iron, so probably would work but I was expecting more, so they have been returned.
