Got the response we wanted!
When the 5 year old girl hugged it and danced for joy, we knew we got the right gift! It's a kid's toy so I don't expect the quality to be great but her grandmother says she loves it and plays it daily.

Cute, but poor quality
Just to be clear, what your paying for when you purchase this guitar is the name "Hello Kitty." Pros: The logo and design are very cute, as are the green geared tuners. The size is nice, being slightly less than a half size guitar and more like the size of a baritone ukulele. The geared tuners themselves seem nice enough as well. Cons: Shoddy quality; poor paint job around the neck and sound hole, scuffs and knicks on headstock. Horrible factory strings, though that's not unusual and they should be replaced if you want it to sound remotely decent. All that being said, if you're just wanting this for the novelty factor and you're a Hello Kitty fan, or if your wanting this as a beginner guitar for your child (or you) to learn on, then I would recommend it. But, by no means is this a high quality guitar, so please don't be expecting that.

Daughter loves her guitar!
The guitar is a kids guitar, but it seems sturdy . It holds tune fairly well....well until small hands mess with the tuners. I was able to play a few kids tunes on it for her. The paint job is not perfect, but for the low cost, I didn't expect it to be great. It comes with only on strap knob..I really don't know what they were thinking there. I've tried to put nylon strap on and tie it around the neck, but it doesn't work. I need to install another knob so she can hold the guitar by a strap. This is the main reason I gave it 4 stars. I will have to give Amazon 5 stars for customer service. When I ordered the guitar, another graphic was pictured (pink with a rainbow) and I received the black/white/pink. They quickly shipped another, but I still received the black/white/pink version. Apparently the vendor had changed the graphic and didn't make the pink w/rainbow version. They offered a refund, but I chose to keep one of the guitars and sent the other back. In the end, my daughter was happy just to have the guitar with Hello Kitty!

my 5 year old neice was thrilled
bought this for my niece and she was thrilled. it came quickly and it turned out to be black instead of pink but that actually made it look cooler.

Probably not the most in-tune instrument out there but it's great for kids
Daughter loves it. Probably not the most in-tune instrument out there but it's great for kids.

Poorly made guitar
While this is a toy guitar and you really couldn't expect it to be like a real guitar, you should be able to expect to last like the $30 toy it is. The first one broke as I (the grandmother) was trying to tighten one of the strings. I did not use extra force, it just broke. Giving the thing the benefit of the doubt and chalking it up to just being a lemon, I ordered a second one for my granddaughter. I received it in a timely manner and a couple of weeks later I was able to give it to her. Her mother this time was trying to tighten the strings and the whole thing just fell apart. Very poor craftsmanship, in my opinion.

quality isn't too good
i bought this guitar for my niece. the first day that she used it one of the strings snapped as well as the part you tighten it with. she wasn't rough with the guitar either. i saw when it broke and she was using it as she was supposed to. i wouldn't recommend it because of it's crappy quality

NICE TOY

String action wasn't as good as seller claimed. Sound is okay, but could be more brilliant. Not bad for gauging how your child likes playing guitar, but not truly sufficient for any real building of skill or lessons.
