Not using again.
We have had multiple Pedco clamps and have used them for over two years. All of them have failed...one at a time. The pads fall off...some of them have had terrible quality in the metal (screws have sheared off - inside cameras...the last one that did this sheared off inside of a zoom Q2N which is a smaller camera and this left the camera without a way to correctly mount it at all. This pedco clamp cost money and then compromised the camera). We will no longer be purchasing pedco clamps. If you consider these for use I would a) screw them into a plate instead of a camera (knowing you may loose your plate) and b) feel insecure about them doing a good job at holding your camera. I would just not advise using them.

Defective out of the Package, 2 for 2
It was very unfortunately that this piece of hardware was defective out of the package. The knob which is attached to the long clamp screw came right off the shaft. The long screw shaft was also frozen in place and could be turned at all. Also, the threaded post which attached the articulating mount to the clamp and connects to the equipment have too short of threaded shaft. In addition, the threaded locking knobs were extremely tight and one stripped out the locking knob trying to turn it counter-clockwise to move it near the end f the post.Pedco has a great idea, but failed to deliver due to design/material flaws, poor assembly and lack of quality control. I'm hoping the replacement clamp mount is much better.REPLACEMENT CLAMP MOUNTSadly, the second clamp mount was defective, as well. This mount had a bit different problem. The locking nut-ring was frozen and would not turn. As a result, the post turned free and became completed detached from the ball which is held by the ball clamp. I don't need to say anything else. The fourth photograph speaks for itself. I do not recommend this product at all. This purchase was a waste of my money and my time. Would give no stars if I could.

Awesome clamp
As a wedding photographer I use several off camera flashes for lighting spaces. I prefer to use clamps if here are things to clamp to, to avoid cluttering the space with light stands people can knock over or trip over. Some times there's nothing to clamp to at all, and other times my regular clip style clamps are too small for what is available. This 4" clamp is huge but it can clamp to wide poles and beams, door frames, and other things that the small ones can't. Barns for example, are full of beams the normal clip style clamps are too small for, but this one is big enough for you to find some beam or structure to clamp to.They're a bit pricey but that's because they're big clamps, but this clamp opens up more opportunities to not have to use light stands than I had before.

This clamp is beast mode
I use this to mount off-camera flashes and occasionally cameras to anything I need for combat photography. It's a good sized clamp--about the size of an average man's hand--and made with quality materials. I trust this thing so much, I've used it with my $500 flashes on life rails of Coast Guard cutters in heavy seas, clamped on inside a submarine during a dive (anyone who has experienced that can tell you how violent that can be), outside a speeding humvee in a sandstorm (we weren't shot at, so I don't know if it can withstand bullets). I even had this thing out in front of a Navy LCAC cabin holding a Nikon D700 for a photo of a boat pilot. This might come off as some commercial, and trust me, I wish it was so I could start getting these for free, but hopefully you'll get the fact that these clamps get the seal of approval from one military photograper. If there was a complaint, like other reviewers have already said, the threads on the screw will rust if you don't take care of it. I've found if you wipe it clean after every job and oil it, it stays strong for a long time. I wish I knew that earlier because I blew through my first few before I finally figured it out.

This holder is just OK in my view. I tried to use it to attach a action camera to the windshield on my GoldWing and it does not do a very good job gripping the windshield even though I have tightened it about as much as I can with my bare hands. I also tried using it on the dash of my GoldWing and I could not get it to hold the camera in one place. In addition to the gripping issues, I also find it awkward to get the camera where I want it pointing in the right direction. I would not buy this again.

Handlebar mount on a Motorcycle
I bought this to use on my beloved 30 year old Suzuki GS1000G motorcycle. I knew it would be a tough environment due to vibration, so I tried a couple different locations and angles. The video with this review was the best of the locations I tried initially- I'm still experimenting. This one has the camera, a Sanyo Full HD VPC-FH1, on the left handlebar with the camera as high as it could go. The other location I tried on top of the Vetter cycle sound box gave a better view, but it was too jumpy. Viewed in a lower resolution it may not have been so bad. The video was shot in 32 degree weather and the maximum speed was 65 MPH at the end of the video. The mount was very easy to use. It has rubberized mounting surfaces to help with grip and vibration. The fixed surface has a notch in it to help with mounting on round objects like handlebars. It seemed very secure in my evaluation. There are two axis adjustments- a knurled knob that allows you to pivot the arm 360 degrees, and then a tri-arm knob that controls the fore-aft placement of the arm as well as the ball that holds the camera stud, which is the standard 1/4-20. The knurled knob on the ball does not spin independent of the ball, so you have to leave the tri-knob loose until your camera is secured. Overall, this gives a great range of movement. I tried many locations on my bike, but most of the handlebar mounts were too low for my application.I would rate this as a good value for the money, and it would likely work well in a majority of applications.

Versatile clamp.
This clamp is quite versatile. In its usual state it will support still cameras under most conditions, it just requires a solid object to clamp onto.I removed the flexible arm and mounted a pan/tilt head onto the clamp body. I can now use it for video work.

Sturdy and well engineered
A solid metal clamp with some sturdy plastic for the top hinge. This is a well designed product, the metal clamp comes with a heavy duty plastic cover with the screw end free to rotate to help reduce damage to the product you are clamping to.at the join between the metal plastic (the two large plastic bolts either side of the metal frame) the is a hidden screw that reduces rotation of the plastic part, as the back of the plastic bolt has a dozen or so pockets from spiral bracing struts inside it.Although plastic, the hinge and the ball and socket joint feel well made and when tightening, both joints become firm before you think you are going to strip a thread or crack the plastic.

Very useful!
This works magic. With it I can clamp my camera/recorder basically anywhere, from any angles.

good bit of kit
not as universal as you may think i had to dismantle it to get it to fit on my bike but to be fair i can't really blame the product it certainly is multi adjustable and of good quality its just unfortunate that the bit i found useful is a bit i also had on a much cheaper bracketdon't be put off it is a good bracket it just won't fit on a triumph trophy

The ball head clamp was low quality for the price ...
The ball head clamp was low quality for the price. The thread broke within two days after being tightened and untightened only a couple of times. The thread had completely snapped inside.Other than that, the rest of the clamp seems decent so far but I wouldn't be too sure now the ball head clamp didn't last me two days.

A good piece of kit
This is a nicely made clamp which I bought in order to fasten my camera to the handlebars of my bike. It does that wonderfully well, It is easy to use with a wide range of movements. It is nicely finished in black with a good cushion on the clamp so as to avoid damage to surfaces on which it is clamped. Highly recommend and, best of all, it's actually made in the USA!

A good all rounder
It has its limitations but for the price this clamp is easily worth it.It will hold an LED light or monitor upto 7 inches without any sign of strain and can be mounted pretty much anywhere. Very happy with this purchase.

good mount poor quality
decent go pro mount, imo. Use it everyday. Not massively durable, tho, coz I have to buy a new one every 6 months. Usually because the screw threads, by which I mean, you can no longer tighten or un-tighten the clamp part.

Fantastic piece of camera kit
Fantastic piece of camera kit, performs exactly like the more expensive camera clamps but at a fraction of the price.

Super bit of kit
An excellent addition to my camera kit, well made and pretty robust. I have added a long Velcro strap to it in order for it to be used on larger items such as posts and trees.
