Less than a year and it's crashing. Won't play downloads nor allow installation of new games.

This item is not worth it. I'm not sure if those 5 star posts are accurate or not. My Xbox reads the hard drive, and apps can be installed/moved/copied to this hard drive, but games on the other hand, can not. If you go to download a game, it will download maybe 1 Mb, then it will say "installation stopped" honestly I just took the entire thing apart and plugged the actual hard drive into a different (older) connection port I have, I used to have a 1 TB hard drive plugged in. But with the old connection meathods, but new hard drive, it worked 100% so that narrowed it down to the casing. The wiring inside to gather the info of the hard drive is all messed up. Honestly look to buy just the hard drive itself, then buy a connection port. It will save you money because you won't be up charged for a cheap piece of plastic that keeps a good hard drive safe. PS. I ordered some compact connector cables to make me able to easily connect these hard drives to my xbox. I'm going to see if I can still use the shell of this product or make one that is vary similar to connect it to my Xbox with both hard drives connected and secured. This product did have a nice thought for design though

Great add on especially for more usb slots and storage and easy to install but when I got mine the warranty sticker had already been cut so I opened it to check everything and turns out the tabs that hold the hard drive locked in had broken so I fixed it the best I could and it works great so far but definitely think packing should be checked before shipping

Have had the issue with it not being read upon starting up my Xbox, the fix was to turn over the power cord so the plug is on the top and not on the bottom. However, the new issue is that it will no longer let me install or update games. It immediately says "installation stopped". I've tested the Xbox hdd and my old ssd, both with no issues. I've deleted everything off the xstor ssd, re-formatted, still not working. Can't find any customer support anywhere to fix this issue. Plus, my games are now all running poorly like before having an SSD (mainly pubg) so it's obvious not working correctly even if it's being read. $250 junk since I'm past my Amazon return date. One of my biggest regrets from a purchase. (Would be happy to update my review after a contact from support to help fix the issue)

I had the original Xbox one hard drive from fantom and had a good experience it so when I got my son a xbox one x, I knew who to go to for the external hard drive. I love it! Looks great and looks like it’s part of the Xbox. The power cable adapter can fit up or down. However if the cable is going in the down direction, it does not sit flush. Make sure to put it correctly and flush. Check my picture shows it.

Beware that this needs you to use the mounting bracket that comes with the Xbox one x from the factory. If you’ve misplaced it, then your sol. Also my unit tends to randomly stop working from time to time where it is unrecognized by the Xbox and cannot play anything installed. Even hard restarting doesn’t fix, you have to unplug and reconnect the power supply. I find this very annoying after dropping nearly $250 on this, along with no clear support route from the seller.

Seidem die Festplatte an meiner Konsole hängt muss ich sie alle paar Stunden neu Starten da andauert irgemd ein Fehler angezeigt wird bei dem gemeint wird das das Laden zu lange gedauert hat bei dem Entfernen der Festplatte aber irgendwie dann wieder Funktioniert oder beim Neustart
