Last Kiss (A First and Last Novel, 2) Review: An amazing conclusion to wonderful series! Will keep you at the edge of your seat! - In the conclusion of Laurelin Paige’s First and Last series, book 2, she leads us down a road paved with dark secrets, danger, lust, love, friendship and jealousy. Emily Wayborn may have started down this path in search of her friend to help her, but now she is fighting for her life and her future. Who can she trust? And now Amber is back. She is alive, barely, but alive. Emily is happy and destroyed. She loves Amber. She loves Reeve. Reeve once loved Amber and now Amber is back and fighting for what she wants. And she wants Reeve. Who does Reeve really want? And in the end, can Emily compare to Amber? This story is so angst-ridden, I thought my heart was going to burst right out of me. In First Touch Emily finally came to accept who and what she was and wanted. Realizing with the right man she could be loved and fulfilled and safe. But Reeve’s secrets and past haunt her and make her question him and herself at every turn. And at every turn there is danger and secrets that keep Emily just out of reach of what she wants more than anything. And then there is Amber. Amber who had been her closest friend, ally and like a sister to her. Her whole life had been based around what Amber “did” for her and how she walked away from her. The life she built after Amber was because of Amber. Did she not owe Amber her happiness? Her safety? No matter the cost? With little choices and danger at every turn, Amber, Reeve and Emily find themselves trying to find a new normal, while Reeve swears to protect them at all costs. I struggled with Emily. I wanted her to find her happily-ever-after, but her insecurities and feelings of inadequacies held her wants, her needs, her desires at bay. She had it all at the tip of her hand, but her sense of duty did not allow her to take it. Instead she found herself questioning everything and though I completely understood where she was coming from, I just wanted to scream at her and tell her to grab it and never, ever let go. But I did like her. Even as she drove me crazy, even as she submitted and pushed and pulled at her own desires. Because even when she wanted to submit, she also wanted to fight, to scream, and to find herself. Though she would never admit to herself, in her own way she was strong and determined. Reeve Sallis. What can I say about Reeve Sallis? He was a man like no other. Strong, determined, controlling, dangerous, and scary. Yet, he was also so much more. Throughout the story we get glimpses of the man beneath the hard shell. Enough to let us see him as a man with his own wants and needs and a desire to be loved and taken as is. To be truly understood and accepted. Even as you doubted some of his actions, his motives were always out of love, protectiveness and yes, all about control. The man exuded power, strength and control. As the story progresses we once again see more of Amber and Emily’s history. We understand Emily’s decision to be there for Amber and to truly understand why she makes some of the decisions she does, even when we want to scream and throw our hands up in resignation! I loved this story, loved how fast paced and detailed it was. The suspense, secrets, twists and turns grabs the reader and never lets you go. I am a huge fan of Laurelin Paige, and stories like this are the reason why. This series is a must read! I give Last Kiss by Laurelin Paige 5+ amazing stars. Happy reading! Review: AMAZING!!!!!! - “I reminded myself that, while there was beauty in the fall, paper airplanes never stayed in flight for long. Eventually, I’d hit the ground.” You know the kind of book that has you sitting on the edge of your seat, your heart pounding in anticipation, you’re holding your breath as each new scene takes place, you’re anxious, and you Cannot. Stop. Reading? That’s this book right here. I could not get enough of this story and I never wanted it to end. The writing is phenomenal! Laurelin has a magical way with words and she reaches in and touches you. The emotions are so real and raw that you can’t help but feel everything. And there is a lot to feel in this story. I was overrun with so many fierce feelings: despair, frustration, anger, love, and so much hope. “Now, I felt like I was fading. As if I were merely someone in a photograph left out too long in the sun, and although parts of my figure remained, I was no longer identifiable. I was no longer a person at all.” Emily. My heart broke for her so many times, in so many ways. I wanted her to stand up, fight for what she wanted. Her fears and feelings were so real and relatable and you could understand where she was coming from. She was torn between her love for Amber & for Reeve. She is so full of love and life and her inner torment kept holding her back. I wanted so badly to see her soar. And Reeve. He is everything! Dominating, possessive, controlling, yet he is so full of love. His tender moments are so endearing. And he knows just what Emily needs and how to deliver it, in all aspects of her. He loves her so completely and you could feel it radiating from the pages. “My love for you is so ferocious, so dominating that I’m possessed by it. It changes who I am. It makes me someone different and yet I’m more who I’ve always believed I am than I ever have been.” This story takes you on a journey filled with twists and turns, passion, and strength. It’s gritty and raw and just fantastic! What an incredibly amazing ride this story has been. Completely captivating, from the start of First Touch to final word of Last Kiss. An absolutely stunning story that has left me breathless!

Oh my word I don't know where to begin! I've finished Last Kiss by Laurelin Paige and honestly what a fantabulous book! It was freaking amazing!! Last Kiss follows on from First Touch, which I absolutely loved as well! I was so eager for the release of Last Kiss and it lived up to its expectation for me and then some!! We were left with a MAHOOSIVE cliffhanger at the end of First Touch and Last Kiss picks right off from there. I'm not going to summarise the story too much as I feel it would ruin it for the reader - you’ve just got to trust me and read it! I don't want to say too much about some aspects, as it will spoil First Touch if you haven't already indulged! The story centres around Reeve and Emily, with things getting pretty darn interesting and complicated!! I've got to say I have a huge soft spot for Reeve, but still until the end felt like I hadn't fully worked him out! He is dominant and sexy throughout, but you also get to see the REAL Reeve in Last Kiss! Emily is complicated in her own way and I loved reading the progression of her as a character. I found myself shouting at her in my head on several occasions! Your mind will be working throughout this astonishingly sexy and thrilling book! I had such a love/hate relationship with the characters - they are so well written! I am sure some of the facial expressions I was pulling while reading were epic!! My heads still reeling from finishing Last Kiss and my emotions are everywhere! I was kept guessing till the end which I loved - I was never quite sure how it was going to end! That made the tale amazing - that it was in no way predictable! Your kept on your toes throughout, being pulled and pushed for the duration of the novel! This book is so well written you are literally going to be taken away while reading. My imagination was working overtime!! It flows so well and although there is a lot happening in the book I was never lost or stuck - the storyline was brilliant!! You will also be simultaneously fanning yourself due to its steaminess ;-) I was taken a hold of by this novel and am going to be suffering a major book-hangover now I have finished! Last Kiss for me is without a doubt a MUST READ. This novel with its twists and turns will enthral you.

This second instalment was definitely better than the first one. The female character seems to finally grow a backbone. I still wonder why the author has so little consideration of women.
