Spend more get way more..
Anyone who never had any kind of top of the latter attachment should buy this first. I worked with the big one piece wide adjustable and non adjustable "U" shaped ones for years thinking it was all I needed till I came across a unique circumstance and this was needed to get the job done.I didn't really have a problem with going thru the time sucking hassle of working with wing nuts used for holding them to the ladder but now that I saw the light the easy install and removal of this with no worries of loosing hardware like the forementioned wing nuts makes everything go a little easier and faster. The fact there are other attachments makes that alone worth the extra cost. Most of the time I use the basic one but when I need one like the one for corners the quick and easy procedure to convert goes fast. The only downside is the awkwardness in shape and space this takes up when transporting to new locations.

Easy on Easy off.
I was intrigued at the thought of having a ladder standoff that was easy on-easy off, plus was able to change out the various lengths of standoff sections. I need to reach a corner of my gutter that is leaking and the only way for me to reach it will be with this standoff as a regular corner standoff is too short for the wide overhang on my two story + plus attic 85yr. old house. I bought the "multi pro" version that comes with the corner standoffs. I also bought the 24" stand off sections. One thing I noticed was that the stand off sections (straight) are made of 1" emt (electrical conduit) I would think you could make your own extensions yourself if you happen to have a drill press (as I do) so that you could drill accurate holes for the extensions to fit inside and line up with the main frame tubes holes. Assembly was straight forward once I familiarized myself with the directions and parts. Another situation is that this sturdy standoff is significantly heavier than a regular single bar standoff. I have three ladders, a 17'multi position ladder and 20'and 28'extension ladders. The 28' ladder is right ON the line of being unmanageable (for my 66yr old body) to raise and lower by myself when using this standoff and I have to extend the ladder to it's full working length to reach the peak area of my roof. Because of that I am seriously considering returning it. Before I decide I'm going to see if the corner standoff sections position me out far enough from my wide overhang to reach that tough to get at gutter corner, if it does then I'll keep it. All in all the ladder max multi pro's versatility and sturdy construction, make it a worthwhile addition to your ladder accessories, especially if the extra weight of it's construction is not a hindrance to your application.

Back Off!
Purchased this item to address my need to work on the gutters at the corners of the roof. Unfortunately I could not get each corner attachment to rest on each side of the roof surface. One attachment would always rest on the “hip” (intersection of two roof planes to form a slope) regardless what I did. Other than that it was easy assemble and install onto the ladder.

Solid but heavy and only for corners.
I purchased this "for corners and more" stabilizer to do both roof work and corners. Unpacking the product I discovered that only the corner extensions come with the product. You have to buy another set of extensions for roof work. I got around this by drilling a second set of mounting holes in the corner extensions so I could mount the extensions rotated 90-degrees. This worked perfectly with no apparent compromise in strength. During assembly I discovered that a couple of the bolts were not long enough to properly engage their nylock nuts. These were the two bolts that mount the cross member. They needed to be about 1/8" longer. Otherwise the unit assembled with problems. It is all steel construction and the tubing looks very similar to electrical conduit. It is heavy; 12.5 lbs or so.I used this stabilizer with a 31' class-3 extension ladder to reach a 20' roof. This ladder is heavy and hard to handle but IMPOSSIBLE for me to handle with the 12lb Ladder-Max extension mounted on it. I had to have a helper and use a guy-line in a derik arrangement to orient the ladder and raise the extension to reach the roof.Once the ladder was placed, however, it was quite solid and felt safe during the work. The stabilizer is strong and seemed to have no difficulty holding my entire weight while mounting the roof.Hope this helps anyone considering this product.-Dave

Great product, but you need to know . . .
Very well designed, strong, top quality, feels safe. This is a bundle which includes the basic part that easily and securely attaches to the ladder and a set of arms which are designed for corners "and more". Several other arms for this product are available -- of different sizes and shapes, and I'll be buying them too. Any strong product of this nature adds weight to the top of the ladder, so there is more work raising it and moving it around to get it in place. MORE IMPORTANTLY - for one person working alone, getting the ladder down from vertical is more-or-less unable to control the speed of descent using the usual method for lowering a ladder. This results in a "hard landing" and possible damage to this product. Possible remedies: a second capable worker to catch the top or hold down the base while the first person lowers it, or devising some other way to hold down the base securely to the ground while lowering. (It's not feasible or safe to attach or detach this device to the ladder while you have climbed up near the top.) One reason I bought this was to re-install a short length of gutter that had come down. With the arms resting on the roof shingles, I was in a great position for the gutter work. It seems to be the ideal solution for this situation(and the ONLY way to do it, other than a hydraulic lift or scaffolding.) I am very happy with this product and will come up with a good way for one person to lower it gracefully.

Wish they had told me it doesn’t come with the rubber tips.
Yeh. Wish they had told me it doesn’t come with the rubber tips. I kind of need those.
