This is the first volume of the epic tale of half-demon InuYasha, containing the plots from the first three episodes of the TV series.Although speech is written in english, this graphic novel stays close to its Japanese origins, reading from right to left and providing Japanese SFX. This novel is in colour unlike its counterpart series, making it not only a fascinating and exciting read, but also an awed piece of anime artwork.The ani-manga narrative is the tale of young Kagome as she learns she is the reincarnation of InuYasha's ill fated love Kikyo. In feudal Japan, InuYasha and Kagome must gather the fractured segmants of mystical jewel shards that have the power to transform InuYasha into a full demon.Despite this fact, Kagome and InuYasha know they must work together to achive this seemingly impossible task.I watched the television series whilst in the states, and although not broadcast in the UK, these coloured Viz novels embody the spirit of the show, which like many Japanese anime tackels the philisophical issues of life and love.
