I am a firm believer in human-grade food for my pets and am willing to spend the $$$ human-grade costs. That said, this product left me disappointed and my dogs casting side-eye.To start, the packaging is a mess. The food sticks to the inside and gets lodged in the bottom fold of the pouch. You coat your hand and the spoon merely trying to scoop it out, and I have huge hands. I cannot imagine how difficult it may be for persons with arthritis or small hands to handle this product!Unlike other human-grade products I've purchased, this product is goopy and overly-blended and comes out like a pink-colored paste. The ingredients are indiscernible and while 'human-grade' it's not appealing in the slightest. 'Meat sludge' may be the best way to describe it.Packaging and consistency aside, it all comes down to my pets. I have 4 Westies - a family - and spend A LOT on products to maintain their longevity. The eldest of my Westies is going on 19 years old, which I wholly attribute to a human-grade diet. They collectively turned their noses up to this food. They prefer variety in their diets and the ingredients - particularly the turkey - are among their favorites. But the goopy pasty-pink slime inside these pouches was simply not for them.I admit my dogs are spoiled, they may even be snobs, but at $7 a pouch I hoped for an experience that would leave their tails wagging. I was not going to leave a review (if you have nothing to say, why say anything at all, right mom?) but was requested to leave a review by the seller and felt an honest review was better than no review.For others like me whose pets are their children, I'd pass on this product.

Dear Portland Pet Food, Thank you so much for your wonderful products. My Irish Wolfhound, Ruby, is very sick with Osteosarcoma and your dog pouch meals make all the difference. She is on so much medication she doesn’t have much appetite. We feed your food to her everyday. I hope you read this and know how happy we are to have found you. Thank you, Wendy & Ruby Jepson

Okay I bought this for my very finicky foster Corgi because his real mom wants him to eat his kibble that she picked. He hates it! So I bought this food that is made just down the road from us. We ordered it yesterday and got it today.I immediately got a small bowl of kibble ready, opened the chicken packet, it smelled good, put some in with his kibble , looked pretty good too,I mixed it all together and set it out for him. He loved the chicken, so he licked and dug it out of the kibble and gobbled it down. No hesitation other than separating the good stuff from the icky kibble. The Portland dog food won. The kibble is all over the floor.

I cannot say enough positive things about this food. I have a 95lb Belgian malinois/lab mix who is EXTREMELY picky. I usually make his food toppers from scratch but was desperate to find a self stable alternative for when we travel. This was absolutely perfect!!! The ingredients are similar to the homemade recipes I follow. The texture is similar too. Most canned dog foods are slimey and have a really nasty strong smell, these did not. While they are a generous size it still takes a lot to feed my chunky boy. My only complaint would be the cost. I understand that more expensive dog food usually equals higher quality ingredients and responsible business practices though so I’m willing to pay the extra money.

The pouch makes it hard to give small amounts for smaller dogs. Long spoon helps but still end up getting on hands and not able to reseal bag just means more waste either for transferring container or bag. Sadly my dog wasn't happy with the flavor and mostly the pea flour but that is her personal preference. I am happy to see companies use limited and better ingredients but pea flour is more of a filler product still.

I've used alot of different dog foods,but this is at best ok. The portion for the cost does not equate. I raise German Shepherds an this is a small amount per package for even a puppy.The QUALITY just doesn't look right for the cost.

This food is awesome. I am using as a treat to put on a lick mat for my 12lb rescue Chiweenie. I reviewed many foods and chose this one as the consistency is like pate and was easily spread on the Lick Mat before freezing for a bit.I could see the real ingredients even ground up. Zeke licked the mat clean!He never did that with pb, baby food or pumpkin.Just make sure to adjust feeding to account for this food if used for a treat or supplement.I purchased the 4 pack variety. I left the unopened bags in corner of counter inside a large zip baggie. Then when I opened one I placed the bag inside fridge (inside another large zip bag). Once refrigerated/opened, it says use within 4 days.Company is very pleasant and in the US.Highly recommend for primary, supplement, treat feeding.

These are awesome! Perfect for traveling or when my dog is being a finicky eater. I sometimes fill the Kong with them and toss in the freezer for a little bit as a treat.The ingredients are straight forward, no fillers or anything highly processed which makes me happy and of course most importantly, my dog loves them. The fact that they are shelf stable and don't need refrigeration (until opened) is super convenient for travel and camping trips.Would love if there was someway to reseal the packaging when storing in the fridge.
