Loved the book Forget the focus on whether to booth rent
I would have bought this book for my staff but your focus on booth renting turned me off. Instead I will focus my training meetings to teach more of the concepts. This book would really apply to any type of salon if the author understood some commission salon are fabulous for growing talent and supporting staff by cross training skilled and unskilled stylist. Focusing on whether it is time to booth rent is not in everyone's best interest. Many team based salon are best served if all staff learned concepts to make the most money for their time. Expand your section on commission and hourly salons benefits and I would give it a 5 star rating in the revision. Stylists can make 6 figures in a commission salon while growing the assistants skills. Giving back to younger staff is what growing our salon community is about. You don't do justice to students thinking they can come out of school and lease without learning from a mentor or a growing the skills first.

Great book for beginners!
Learnt about professionalism in a salon, proper way to work with clients, how to personally understand and justify my pricing. Also the most effective way to do a client consultation. Would recommend. Didn’t like writing style or organization of book. As a salon owner and professional, I found their was too much info regarding beginning stages of starting a career in the hair industry. Would recommend this for apprentices or stylist fresh out of beauty school.

Great book
I've been a successful stylist for 35 years. This book is a well written recipe for success. It should be given as a gift to all who graduate cosmetology school. The editing on the kindle version was terrible however.

hard to take this serious
To the author...If you would like an Editor, please let me know. I'd gladly do the job.Good lord, this book has so many grammatical errors in it that it is hard for me to take the info seriously. Also, some of the ideas in here are quite ridiculous and unprofessional. Sometimes, we do things such as waste time reading 100% of a so-so book for the 10% of good ideas it has.If grammar and a few unprofessional suggestions doesn't bother you, then check this out. It does have a few items that are worth a look.

Decent book. Gets repetitive for sure, maybe a better read for someone in school or new to the industry but still helpful and a super easy read.

Every stylist can improve and this is a great how-to.
I’ve been in the business as a tv hair and make up artist and salon owner for 30 years- This book represents the easiest read and one of the best books I’ve ever read pertaining to what the stylists today need to hear. Instructive and positive.

Great Food For Thought
There are a lot of tips and tricks in this book I've already started implementing. He talks a lot about professionalism, appearance, developing strong relationships with clients and the importance of pre-booking. He also suggests several great networking ideas, like planning events with cosmetic stores. Yes, there are several grammatical errors and not everything in here is rocket science, but I'm feeling more inspired to market myself with tips from this book so I recommend it.

Life Changer
I read this book because I was in a slump at the hair salon that I work at and needed a serious boost of some sort. After reading this book and applying the author's concepts, my entire life has changed. This book is a must read for all hair stylists in my opinion if you plan to stay in this industry and excell.

There are a couple of ideas in the book that are worth noting, but some of the advice is so ridiculous that I wondered if it was a joke - particularly the bits about reminding clients when it is your birthday. Overall, it is so full of all kinds of mistakes that it is as if a first, unedited draft has been published. This book makes a mockery of salon professionals. Appalling.
