Self-Heating Shave Cream - Burst of Warmth Opens Pores and Softens Stubble, 6 oz

This stuff is great if you follow the label unlike what I did. lol First off, wet your face. Then get your hands wet as well. Then add small amount on your hand and lather together in your hand. Then apply to your face. Its nice and warm and works well. I first did not do that. I put on my hand dry and onto my face dry. If you do that is is hard and does not apply to face very well. It goes on like putty. Wet is key. You can thank me later! :)

Doesn’t stay warm very long and it dry your face out

This is nothing but a scam product with an attention-getting name. It is hot as it comes out but you'll pay a price for the quality... The product gives you a very heavy and course cream as you try to 'muck' it on. A very heavy and difficult shave once it's on, and as the cream quickly cools down. Worst purchase I've made this month. I do, however, regularly use their 'regular' Butter Cream. That one is one of the best!

I generally shave with a single blade slant bar safety razor, brush, and mug soap. I purchased this for my gym bag to quickly shave after a workout. I tried it at home, using cold water because the water at the gym automatically shuts off after a few seconds The heat didn’t last long, but long enough. Added the water, and shaved. Very smooth, no cuts, nicely moisturized. Finish it off with a traditional aftershave (think Aqua Velva or Skin Bracer) and you’re good to go! I was able to easily rinse the blade, because it’s only a single blade. I did it after every few strokes, and then at the end. Now…I deducted one full star for the smell. I don’t care for it, but I’m sure others like it. It seems hard to get rid of the cloying smell. I have always liked Vanderhagen products, and instead of reordering this, I will most likely get the standard shave butter that I have used before. However, this is not a bad product; the only negative I have is the scent. The performance is great, like all of the Vanderhagen products I have tried in the past.

Went in wanting to love it but it really is like rubbing glue on your face. It’s incredibly thick and difficult to wash/wipe off after a shave. I would compare it to honey, maybe a bit thicker. The heating feels nice though it is short lived at about 5 or so seconds. The cons outweigh the pros by quite a lot in this case.

I was excited about this product. But… The heat is quick at the beginning but quickly goes away within 15 seconds. The cream is very thick and sticky, making it difficult to get through it and get a clean shave. The non-heating version of Van Der Hagen butter is much lighter and airy.

I wasn’t sure if this was just a gimmick but I love their shave butter so i figured it was worth a shot. I followed the directions and have used this 5 times with the same Gillette razor, It wasn’t even brand new to begin with. You can definitely feel the heat on your Skin and I’ve never had a closer shave except maybe a barber. This may be my go to creme from now on. Make sure you follow the directions and wet your face again with warm water before you shave or else it will pull and suck.Good stuff though for my world!
