I've been having problems lately with LPR ("silent reflux"). I'd read that liquid antacids could help so I randomly chose this one from a drugstore shelf. I'm happy with the performance of this product so far.Because I don't get heartburn (my symptoms are a sore throat and a feeling of a lump in the throat), I don't see instantaneous relief of symptoms. However, I am definitely feeling better after using this for a few days. I take it after each meal and before bed. (I've also made some lifestyle changes like stopping drinking soda and leaving at least 3-4 hours after eating before going to bed, but I expect those to take longer to have an effect.)This has a sort of gritty texture and yeah, it tastes like the flavor listed on the bottle -- sort of. It's probably the best they can do under the circumstances. It's not really a pleasant experience to consume, but then, most medications aren't. After a few uses, it wasn't so bad. At first, the artificial sweetener taste hit me, since one of the sweeteners is saccharin, which I'm not used to. But I don't really notice this any longer.I love that this contains no artificial dyes and no parabens (seriously, a lot of antacids contain multiple parabens). The active ingredients are aluminum hydroxide and magnesium carbonate and this product should not be used by people with kidney disease.The only thing I don't like is the bottle, itself. The cap is strange for a liquid product. There's no measuring cup attached so I am having to eyeball it using disposable Dixie cups. Overall, though, I'm happy with it. 4.5 stars.
