I purchased this water meter to test my water hardness after installing a water softener and reverse osmosis system. It seems to work very accurately, and it let us know that our water softener is actually not removing any of the hardness whatsoever. The reverse osmosis water test correctly, which is a good sign. The digital meter is easy to use. It's made of plastic and has a small screen face on the top which reads the ppm hardness level. I fill a cup with about an inch and a half of water and dip the meter in and wait a few seconds for the water to settle. It then gives me a reading. Easy to use and read, and works effectively. The Global Pure Test TDS Digital Meter arrived fully assembled and ready to go. This product includes a leather case to protect the meter when it is not in use. It contains a small pamphlet that gives you the basics on how to use the meter. It worked quickly and was easy to use. I'm pretty sure it tested accurately because I compared my results to someone else in the area that used a different meter. Surprisingly, my plain old tap water did better on this particular test than other types of filtered water. Therefore, I would conclude that this test is a good place to start but other tests would be necessary to fully assess the quality of your water.
