I bought this as my last device was made from perspex and was a few years old. It had split a few years ago and finally fragmented recently.It's a little more capapble and it easily cuts into your apples. I've used it on some large Bramley apples and some smaller eating apples. If you miss the core, this makes it easy to get the last pieces before you slice up the apple.I've marked the "cleaning" section down a little as the edges are razor sharp. This caught me out the first time I used it and cut myself whilst washing up. So please be careful. It you have a dishwasher, them I'm sure you'll be fine.A friend recently showed me a smaller model, but I don't think that would get the whole core in one attempt. In fact it's likely you'll need multiple attempts. This one I am reviewing can get the whole core in one go if you aim perfectly, but if you don't it's easy to get the last pieces with it.

I bought this item for coring my cupcakes, there are others on the market that are much smaller but those are a tad fiddly if you have problems with gripping. This corer has a big enough handle that allows me to grip and the ease of coring my cupcakes is great as it is very simple and easy to clean.Would I recommend this item if somebody has grip problems.... yes I would. It is value for money

I wanted a better, more efficient apple corer, as I love baked apples. So I treated myself to this one. Sadly it's rubbish at actually piercing the apple (this was just an ordinary Bramley cooking apple) although reasonably efficient at getting the core out of the apple - but then, what corer isn't? The most disturbing thing about this corer is that *every* metal edge except the piercing end is razor sharp: quite unnecessarily so.Avoid. Buy the regular kind: at least they won't slit your wrists.

Easy to use and of robust construction. I purchased this to replace one that had broken, and was seeking another of better quality and manufacture. It works perfectly and removes the apple core in one operation, cleanly, and also as the sides of the barrel are spring loaded, it means the core can be ejected easily. Cleaning at the sides of the barrel where they meet the handle can be fiddly, but I use a brush to clean away any residue.

Like the headline says, it's very easy to use. The handle is easy to grip and push into the apple and the lever action once you've removed the core is very clever and allows you to drop the core into a bin or whatever without having to touch it. A quick rinse under a tap and it's ready to go again.

The core size is bigger than the one this has replaced allowing apples for baking to be cored and filled with goodies. The core removed from the apple is easy to remove from the corer without having to poke around by simply using the lever to seperate both halves of the corr itself. The handle is large, comfortable i the hand and easy to use. All in all this device solves all the niggles you might have with a lesser corer.

Does the job well but and this is a very big but.... the metal cutting edge on the inside of the corer is razor sharp. If you wash this implement by hand it is very easy to slice up your fingers. I know because I did. Think maybe it’s an import and bypassed any safety checks or warning notices.So, if you get this, use it with care and keep it well away from fingers especially young ones.
