Probably China ,it's very poor quality, handle is piece of crap

Q: Why is there no weed blade available, this type of blade is for grass only.

Weed blade are more popular due to the thickness of the brush. Have to research for availability of the weed blade.

Q: Can it be made to work for a left-handed person?

It is made for right hand user, the motion you make to cut is from right to left, for left handed should be inverted how it attaches to the handle. I have used it for many years. The manufacturer should make one for left handed users.
