Great low-cal canned food and dry food topper
My two Golden Retrievers, ages 11 and 9 years, love this canned food as a topper to their high-protein, grain-free dry food. Because of their ages I had to cut back on the high-protein food to help them loose weight while maintaining a grain-free diet. One of they is allergic to corn and maybe other grains. This beef stew is terrific. It is the lowest calorie of all the Whole Earth stews and has a high moisture content. Both factors that help with their weight while maintaining a tasty meal. This food really looks like and smells like beef stew! The only additives are vegetables, vitamins and minerals, spices, caramel color, and Yucca Schidigera extract (a natural plant additive with anti-arthritic and anti-inflammatory properties.). No thickeners or other unnecessary stuff. When it became necessary to modify their diet about a year ago I began trying many "grain-free" and "all natural" foods, some of which cost almost twice as much per can. None were as satisfactory and affordable as this product. The boys are excited about getting their meals, eat every bit, are full of energy, and slowly loosing weight.

Paws down BEST canned chow on the market
I have an "Older Golden" retriever that has a sensitive stomach and weight issues. We had to remove her from dry kibble because no matter what kibble we used or how gently we introduced her to a new kibble, her system just could not tolerate it. I did my homework and was surprised that canned dog food is far superior to dry and easily digested, so I thought I would give it a try. I've used the "Whole Earth Farms" brand for as long as I can remember since it is listed as a 5 star brand on the Dog Food Advisory website and it's competitive in prices with other high quality canned chow. For weight management, I have her on 2 cans a day with 1 tablespoon of rice added to each can, 1.5 ounces of boiled boneless chicken breast and 2 of her favorite dog treats (no more than 40 kcals each on the dog treats). When I had her on the veterinarian prescribed diet (kibble & canned) she was losing weight but plateaued out (even with exercise) and she was always hungry. NOW: she's happy, her system quickly adjusted to the canned chow (and she loves it!) and, as an added bonus, she is starting to lose weight again. If we ever get another dog after her, we will stay with Whole Earth Farms wet chow.

My dog loves it
Quality food. My dog loves it and once I started feeding him this food his coat looked shinier and he doesn’t gorge himself on water anymore because the food has a high water content. My only complaint is that sometimes the cans are not filled up all the way. It’s hit or miss. Other than that I highly recommend this food.

doesn't look like slop and smells good - and he eats it
Seems healthy for my dog, well priced, doesn't look like slop and smells good - and he eats it!

She definitely loves it and we love knowing that it has real ingredients from real meat ...
We mix in this wet dog food with dry dog food for added nutritional value and because our picky pup isn't that big of a fan of plain dry food. When this is mixed in, she eats all the dry food so as not to miss and of the beef or gravy from the wet food. She definitely loves it and we love knowing that it has real ingredients from real meat and veggies. It is also reasonably priced compared to other natural pet foods.

Quality Control Issues in This Case of Food
I've been buying this brand of food for my pug for a number of years. She loves it. This case has some serious quality control issues. I've had two cans in which the can was mostly gravy and about 1/3rd the amount of meat chunks as usual. This morning I opened a can that there was no gravy and the meat came up about half way - I threw it out worried that it might be spoiled in some way. Canned dog food is costly enough without the waste and quality control matters. I have an unopened case of Turkey, hoping not to see the same quality control issues in it.

Picky dog is finally happy
My dog was a rescue found on the streets of the Bay Area and from day 1 she's been hard to please foodwise. We've tried several combinations of top rated dog foods with no success. We found this food online and added it to the list of foods we can try in the future. Needless to say, I'm glad we finally got around to trying it. My Sasha now jumps around in anticipation of her meals and has drooled on more than one occasion. We mix ours with Blue Buffalo Wilderness Grain Free Dry Dog Food, Salmon Recipe so her teeth get a little cleaning and her coat keeps a great shine. It gets a little pricey but which dogs happiness isn't worth it.

I would have rated this a 5-star...
My dog LOVES this food... she truly does. We usually get it at the pet store but it isn't sold at the one closest to my house so I wanted to order it over Amazon. I would have rated this a 5-star because when I purchase it as the pet store it is completely full of hearty meat pieces and the quality seems great. I reduced my rating on Amazon to 3-stars because when I opened my first can it was ALMOST ALL GRAVY! I had to mix it with my dry food so it wouldn't go to waste! I included pictures so you can see. Hopefully this is a one time occurrence and my other cans will be fine ( because like I said, my girl usually LOVES this food), but I'm still irritated that it happened to begin with. I guess I will have to wait and see what the rest of the case holds.
