I started with a cheaper version of this, plus also their 3d printable one. In both cases the structure failed to hold my rig adequately (sony a73 w 24-70 lens) ...this one is worth the extra cash IMHO.

Great product, this flex tilt camera support is well built and I love how it allows me to position it in multiple angles to get the viewpoint I want.

I bought mine direct since it was not available on Amazon at the time. My two photos were taken during a lifestyle shoot in a kitchen. Big Canon body and lens. I had to use the Allen wrench to slightly snug two of the friction bolts. Slightly, no cranking. It held that position for over an hour. This is what you're paying for I supposse. The $12 copies seem to lack the ability to hold larger gear.

I've had one of these since they came out and recently bought a second just t keep in my camera bag in case I need a second camera setup. The design is spectacularly thought out and executed. With a little tightening of the joints with the included Allen wrench it easily holds a full frame SLR and telephoto lens at any angle. You can flip it up for portrait mode or verticle slices in a panorama. It folds very compactly and slips into a pocket of your camera bag with ease. I would not use it for video but if you're a portrait or landscape still photographer this will become your go-to tool very quickly. Worth every cent.
