I still have mine after months and it does have expiration date on it.

Is this better than box perms? I feel like box perms doesn't really take my hair anymore.

Yes, I am an African American. It worked well with my hair and I used it on my beard and got the result I wanted at that time. Just make sure with any relaxer that you don't scratch or other your scalp before placing any chemical on it. i'd purchase it again.
