My old kettle had started to have issues so as with most things these days, I was straigjt onto Amazon for a next day delivery! The prime availability was one of the factors that brought this kettle to my attention, but not the only one.As the bulk of the kettle use in my house is my own, I didn't want to be spending too much on a replacement. At £16 this model is very good value and a big draw for me, but I was perfectly happy to spend more if the specs/features of this were not correct.As I bought it, I think it's quite obvious that the features do fit the bill. The most important is the speed of boil, which after a good few years of using fast boil, I cannot suffer if it isn't quick. I havn't used a timer to fully test the claims of a 45 second boil for one cup, but I can definitely confirm thay it's quick. The internal measure for cup sizes can be handy too, particularly if I'm wanting minimal water for a speedy boil which is common before work - but also if you are environmentally concious and want to preserve energy.Asthetically, the basic silver and black design is a great fit wth the rest of my kitchen, meaning I am very happy with the way things slot together.I would definitely recommend this kettle, it's quick, nice, good value and can arrive quickly in an emergency. Ordered as a replacement for a similar Russell H kettle I've had for over 20 years. I ordered this straight forwards model on the basis that the things you see people complaining about in reviews seem to be faults with so called 'features' .. non of which I've ever really wanted in the first place. The realities are that things like 'fill level indicators' .. within weeks you know instinctively how much water is in a kettle you use ever day.. and a light that show the kettle is on .. you know it's on because you just hit the switch or you can hear it boiling ...The kettle seems to boil quickly, it's light to pick up and the noise is reasonable. You can boil up as little as one cup at a time in 45 seconds which is really quick and saves energy. The lid can be taken off more easily than my previous one, I like this as I prefer filling quickly via the top rather than through the spout, the slight trade off of the easy to remove lid being that if you pour too aggressively when the kettle is full it will drip from the lid area.. but the ease of getting the lid off especially if the kettle is hot is useful day to day. The filter is very easy to remove if either you want it to pour faster and don't need the filter.. or if you want to clean/replace it. Spare filters are available online.Hope this lasts another 20 years!

Renewed kettle and toaster (bought this kettle to coincide with toaster of similar design and brand). The price was below competitive rate, as such I had my doubts on quality. I need not have worried, kettle and toaster arrived super quick, both have nice brushed steel effect and not too dissimilar to my dualit that I was replacing, of course I am not sure this will stand the same test of time as the dualit (dualit kettle & toaster have been in use for 30+ years), however, you get what you pay for, at the relatively cheap price I paid I am very happy with the product. One minor gripe is the electrical cord/lead is fairly short (good for some perhaps), for me, unfortunately the kettle now sits under a high level kitchen unit, rather than previous kettle which could be moved clear of possible obstructions. No water marks or damage noted to he underside of the unit as yet, I would suggest a slightly longer electrical cord is needed on this item. I do like the guides inside he kettle so you can boil just the right amount of water (no waste), one cup of water is boiled in just 45 seconds, great for a quick tea break.
