I accidentally purchased two of these, so had to return one. I wanted to be able to access & lock up my shed without digging for a key. This lock works perfectly. It opens with a combination and turn of the handle, and closes with a turn of the handle. I, an 84 year old lady, installed it in an afternoon, since the holes were already in place for the existing deadbolt.

I installed this lockset 3 days ago. We constantly go in and out during the day since we are self-employed. We go home to eat, sometimes take a nap, or retrieve something we forgot. So the lockset is getting a good workout. Installation is easy although a little tedious since you have to use the Allen wrench which only allows about 2/3 of a turn at a time. Setting the code is easy and straightforward. I used 6 digits including the A B character. You may have to try a couple of times before you get the hang of it. Opening is a cinch, but be sure you have a light source at night to see the buttons. I am not sure how weatherproof this lockset is, but if it looks good after a month of use, I will use it on my shed door which has no overhead rain protection. Maybe the Seller can give us some realistic input on this. I own several apartments and I feel that this lockset will give me a simple, mechanical (no batteries needed), digital entry system and do away with keys. This is why I decided on using it in my home. Overall, the lockset is easy to install, easy to use, and a lot more convenient than keys.

Received lock in great condition. unpackaged the lock and read instructions. sitting at my kitchen table I removed the one Phillips head screw indicated and removed front cover to set my desired combination. Installed the gold colored inserts on the numbers I used for my combination and installed the grey colored inserts on all unused numbers. The inserts are removed from the lock system using supplied tweezer and inserted using your fingers...very simple!!. I reinstalled the front cover tightening the one Phillips head screw and tested the combination many times still sitting at kitchen table. Then proceeded to install in my exterior door which took probably 3 minutes maximum and the job was done. I did not find this install and setup up of combination difficult at all. One thing I want to share is that you have to turn the door knob to the lock position to reset the tumblers. If you close the door and turn knob to lock the door then the tumblers are reset not problem. however is you are trying to unlock the door and you enter the wrong combination by mistake, obviously the lock will not open. At this point you will need to turn the knob to the lock position to reset the tumbles again so you can retry your combination. Remember this is a mechanical lock not electronic so you have to turn the knob manually to the lock position to reset the tumblers, only then can you retry your combination to unlock the door. As far as build quality goes, this is not a high security lock. This lock is great for keeping ordinary citizens out of your home, barn, shed, closet ,etc. . A determined intruder can overcome this lock fairly easily. Also this lock is not recommended for your Airbnb type rental where your are changing the combination frequently. you have to completely removed the whole lock system to change the combination.

If you are looking for a lock for multiple applications, this Elemake mechanical lock is a must! I have tried so many different locks from so many different brands but nothing compares to this one. The digital ones look nice but when it rains and when moisture gets in or if it runs out of battery, it renders the unit useless. Had to replace so many of them for that reason. BUT these Elemake mechanical lock always works because it is mechanical and requires no battery. BUT as great as this lock is, Elemake has the BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE and really stands behind their products. Lis is the most helpful and responsive customer rep. I have ever interacted with. She really goes above and beyond and is a great reflection on Elemake as a company. For that reason, I will always purchase an Elemake lock and you should too.

I have only had this installed for a few days and it already stopped working. Followed instructions, but buttons lock up after one or two uses and it stops being accessible. I have to use the key to unlock it, take it apart, fiddle with the buttons and combination settings, then put it back together. Works perfectly for one or two uses, then all the buttons lock up again and it won't work. Been just over a month since it was delivered, and I only just recently installed it, so this is quite disappointing, as I can no longer return it.

Easy to install. Works as it should. Seems rugged. Replaced a battery lock whose contacts corroded in 2 years.

Perfect just what I needed and was looking for. All the auto lock doors did not work for me bc my door was not leveled properly which would not latch correctly with the electric auto lock bc you have to pull and tug up on my door to close.

Very useful as a security option for an outbuilding. Fitting as easy as any lock, only minor issue is it rotates a few degrees in use which, if one notices things out of true, niggles.
