Perfect fit
Purchase this for my youngest son’s truck. The original one on the truck was broken and no longer on securely replaced it with this one. It is the perfect fit and is nice and secure.

Perfect replacement for 2012 Silverado.
Bought is to replace the tailgate cap on my 2012 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 that was damaged. This tailgate cap is exactly like the original one that came on the truck from GM. Easy to install and it built solid. I used the factory bolts that were holding the original cap and worked perfectly. If needed, I would buy again.

Very attractive, some warping along the bottom
Fairly easy to install, hardest part was removing the tape from the original unit, which was a different style. The nuts that come with it stripped immediately as others noted, but the actually look like a rivet nut. I don't have the tool for that, but wondering if they are supposed to be crimped prior to using. The plastic does warp along the bottom when tightening as others noted. Simple design flaw, the screw holes are just a little too recessed. It would be possible to shim them away from the tailgate for a flawless appearance if someone were willing to take the time. The way I use this truck, I chose not to. :)

This came damaged, by the carrier as box was damaged, no fault of the supplier. Sent a picture and it was immediately dealt with. New tailgate molding sent right away. Fits perfect and easy to install.

This part is indistinguishable from the oem part.
Perfect fit, it would be nice however if the mounting screws also included the hexagon inserts that accept the provided screws.
