Very Blendable, water-soluble double sided pens w/decent spectrum of various skin tones
This is what was received in the Tombow Portrait Palette that came to me:N00 - BlenderN15 - Black969 - Chocolate977 - Saddle Brown912 - Pale Cherry772 - Blush800 - Baby Pink942 - Tan020 - Peach850 - “Flesh” (sigh...stop. Guess Tombow haven’t heard about Crayola’s lawsuit! And ethical colour naming. Just Stop! Ffs, Not everyone’s flesh is “flesh”Super blendable water soluble ink art pens. They’re great with watercolor brush/water or with either the brush or point side of the blender pen. I have heard that some ppl get different coloursAt least 4 of these pens are extremely light (800, 850, 942 & 020) & 2 are standard (blender/black) personally, I quite enjoy the lightest of colours for blending portraits because you can always add more pigment easily. Using with blender pens and Without water, One still has the control of adding subtle shades. With water/brush these are remarkable and very easy to control pigment level with damp or wet brush due to buildability and blendability. I thoroughly recommend these.I purchased the greyscale set, and opted in for this one too because I liked it so much.Caps for each that fit in the other end and none of mine were dried out. They were new as they ought to have been. Please know that The pic of the cover would not be able to be created using just 10 pens as the portrait on the front cover requires colours not included. So it’s a little misleading as corals, auburns, rust & reds aren’t included. But who cares ?!They’re good pens with a brush side and a pointy side. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 stars.

Beautiful
I use the markers for my bullet journals. They do not bleed and I love the colors that are offered. I have also used them in a few coloring books and once more they preform perfectly. Highly recommend.

Good Tombow Pens
I used this product to add to my Tombow dual brush collection for adult coloring. I did not buy these to actually draw portraits. I just saw that they were at a good price and thought I could get some new colors. I did indeed receive colors in this pack that I did not have already. I am happy with this set. The black pen is in many other packs, and there definitely are some repeats, but there were also some new colors. Most colors are in the tan/brown/black genre, in case that wasn't obvious. They are more neutral colors that can be used easily with a variety of other colors. Great pack of pens that have worked great for me!

I just might give up on pastels!
I'm not big on using ink-based media for portraiture or life studies. But after trying out these art markers, I'm a convert. They blend so well I can virtually produce a perfectly graded tonal scale. The colors blend as easily as soft pastels, with an even and smooth look. The brush tip is highly versatile. I noticed that the ink flow is constant regardless of how much pressure I apply on the brush to the paper. So unlike water colors, where the more pressure you apply, the more the water color disperses onto the paper, a Tombow brush pen will give you an even color every time. I'm loving this set so much, it's now my go to set for quick figure studies instead of pastels. No more messy fingers! Next up, I'll try the landscape set. I'm sure that will be just as awesome.

Ehh...not the best yet not the worst...
First of all, this pack comes with 9 facial colors ranging from a pale yellow to black. It also comes with 1 BlendiePen. The marker has two points, a medium brush head and a "fine" tip (I used quotations because I'm still new at this and I may be proven wrong in the future).I used these markers almost as soon as I got them. I didn't use them on my good finished sketches, but instead scribled a quick face to try the new pens out. I'm glad I did. I inked in the boarder lines on one side and was happy to see it not only dry quickly but not bleed through my paper. I then proceeded to color the rest of the drawing while checking intermediatly for bleeding, drying rate, etc. I proceeded to do this until it was finished. I wasn't exactly thrilled with the results (Although, as I've mentioned, I am new at this and my technique may be off.) The ink never did bleed through my paper and all the ink dried fast...a little to fast for me. I ended up with a more than streaky result. It reminded me of when I would use the Crayola Washables. I tried blending the colors to counter this but didn't get very far.I scribled another face and inked it with a different set. This time I only used it for detail work and it worked great! Of course detail work is short fast strokes but in this case the BlendiePen really shined.I don't know if I'll be ordering again, or anytime soon at least. This company has many other sets available but after this expirience I will have more caution. Words of wisdom: Everybody has a place. Even a marker whose purpose was not found the first time. :)

Not all the shades of skin but enough to get by
Doesn’t blend as well as I expected (images seem to imply watercolor solubility with water brush) but they are what you expect of markers that happen to have a brush-tip option. The skin tone color palette is great if you intend to only use one or two shades at a time, but there are really only about 6 colors out of the 9 color markers that you can use for human skin if you exclude the two pink shades for the lips. Even if these markers did blend well, the shades wouldn’t really look good together.#942, #977, and #969 are more or less along the same brown gradient and blend well.#912 is an odd subdued orange color that I can’t see ever using as a skin tone on its own. It only seems to go with #020 which looks like a light yellow color with an orange tint and #850 which looks like pink with a yellow tint.#800 and #772 are otherwise very compatible pink shades. The remaining color pen (N15) is just black.
