Perfect
Fits 6 tenkara rods and all of my associated gear. Very well made and space efficient. I didn't purchase it for travel, but for alternative storage. It worked out perfectly.

AAA+ beat all other brands hands down!!
I read descriptions, I read internal/external dimensions, “I”measured “my” rods and did my own math. I read the Ad nauseam Questions asking all the above questions. All of my rod fit in tubes except one that fits if I take it out !THANK YOU !!! For providing the information for me to figure if my own rods will fit and not leave it to the masses to tell me then get mad when it doesn’t fit lol. This is a cool bag. Better than I thought. It is a little smaller width then I thought but that’s my own fault and way I saw #s. But it works fine. I have 5 …. 5! Rods 4 in tubes and 5! reels in main compartment with room for more.1wt 6’ / 3wt 6’6” / 4 wt 8’6”/ 5wt 9’/ and a 7wt 9’ untubed can fit in also. “If” I needed all of them which I would not. I have not even started filling other sections up with excess fly do dads lol.All seems look well sewn. No loose threads, zippers all around look in god shape and if “taken” care of will be fine. I wait and researched this for weeks as it was just out of price range to get away with with wife. Then it dropped to $100 so I grabbed it. $114 was lowest I found and was about to grab but found lower price. Good for me.I have handled the fish pond and simms versions. And found this one for the money size and believe it or not quality well well worth it unless you’re trying to make a statement at river side. I own my share of higher end gear but $200+ for same on small and lesser quality for higher end brands was shocking. Glad I dove into this and handled it and others and compared all #s and pricing.Thank you Allen for this awesome product

Great case for the money--very versatile storage
Although I returned this case, I give it good initial reviews -- never used it so can't comment on durability.Returned it as one of the exterior pocket zippers kept malfunctioning and the internal storage was just a tad too small. I ordered the Fishpond Dakota as well to compare. The Allen case for the money is a winner. But the Fishpond is several notches above the Allen from the quality standpoint and because the padding and compartments are engineered so well (not as thick), there is much more room in the Fishpond. In rod socks I have packed 2 @ 9ft fly rods, 1 @ 8ft fly rod, 1 @ 7 ft/4 piece travel spinning rod, a 6ft/4 piece travel spinning rod, and 2 telescopic spinning rods plus 4 spinning reels, 4 fly reels with room to spare. The Allen case interior is "over padded' which made all of the above very tight and the 2 telescopic rods would not fit. The many dividers on the Allen are very aggressive velcro so they stay put. Bottom line if you want max room and longevity go with the Fishpond. If you don't need as much internal space and don't plan on heavy use, then the Allen is a great value @ $70 less.

Excellent bag but not for overhead on plane.
If you read some of the other reviews they lead you to believe that you can put this case in the overhead on a plane. Not true. The limit on most planes is 22 inches. This is 31.5 so forget it. It has to checked. I have been carrying the old bazooka rod case for years but since 911, this case gets more attention than it should. TSA takes the rods out that were perfectly wrapped and then puts them in the wrong way and has bent guides and broken rod tips. This last trip someone didn't put the pin that holds the top on correctly and it was missing when I got to Florida and I was lucky that the case didn't come apart and loose my four rods! I have since replaced my rods with four piece travel rods and retired my three piece ones. I hated to do it but felt now is the time. This case is very well made and will easily take four , 4 piece rods if out of their own case. You can squeeze a half inch more if you put a rod diagonally and get a 31 inch rod in, otherwise end to end it's 30.5. Big enough for most travel rods. There is room for other stuff since you're checking the bag anyway you might as fill it up and take a chance on the TSA guy being careful. The dividers inside might help to made the top more durable and hopeful crushproof but the case itself looks fairly strong. The pictures of this bag are accurate so you get the idea of what you're getting.. I have my fingers crossed for my next trip with new rods. We will see.

Awesome bag - except the strap!
Really like this case - just took it on a trip to FL and was lightweight and flexible. The bag is constructed to move the compartment pieces around to adjust to whatever I was taking on this trip. Tried the Fishpond Dakota and the compartments are fixed - not terribly flexible. The only drawback is the strap - walking thru the airport/ TSA/ gates and in the plane meant I have to hug the bag as the strap only works to keep the bag horizontal so it would hit anyone walking next to me or negotiating in the plane. Have changed to another strap where the shoulder piece slides and I can put the bag vertical making it easier to maneuver. Not sure why manuf decided to overstitch the strap so you can't move the shoulder piece - it's counterintuitive where the compartments are flexible but the strap is not.

Nice case
For the price the rod case is well built, with plenty of room for rods up to 9 ft. has ample storage for reels and about any terminal tackle you might need. Keeps very thing compact and together. Now if you are a fisherman that want high end everything, look elsewhere and spend more.

Great
Adjustable Velcro compartments, adequate padding, good size. Good quality. Price point is great. No negatives at all. Fit several 4 piece rods and gear.
