Q: What chipset does this card use as media chips are incompatible with the oculus rift thanks

I do not know what chipset this card has. but I installed it and am using the 2 USB 3 sockets for the 2 Oculus Rift Sensors connections without problems.

Q: do you need to set this in raid mode?

I didn't, it's pretty much plug and play.

Q: Will this card report in my bios and/or prior to boot like a standard SSD pcie device for selection as boot device.

It did so for me (assuming of course you install and partition/format an M.2 drive on it). Tested the drive speed (NVME card) when plugged into this adapter vs plugged into the motherboard's native slot and it's almost identical too.

Q: How do you cool the nvme in this one? it does not seem to provide a heat sink

You need to buy a heat sink seperately.
