strong enough to be dangerous but not effective as a weapon to hunt or defend
Not as bad as some of the reviews say, the assembly is not super difficult but can be better. I added a penny to buffer the screw pressing against the pressure pad keeping the limb in place. The sight is a bit flimsy but can be stabilized with some padding below the plastic ramp (I used a piece of silicone cover). The tension on the limb is pretty strong, not very easy to string with just one person, can be done if you leverage your body weight but be careful not to break the plastic tips where the strings are latched on to. I personally got different plastic tips than the ones shown in the picture, they fit snuggly but I recommend superglue to really keep them attached to the limb. Using a luggage weight the crossbow measures about 42 lbs about half an inch before the string is latched into it’s fully drawn position so the strength is not too far off (probably even higher pressure if I can get the measurement closer to fully drawn). The shot isn’t as fast as I imagined but the bolts will pierce two layers of the standard Amazon box cardboard, buried to the plastic fletching. I’ve fired about 10ish times and the crossbow held up pretty well so far, got it for about $32 with tax in March 2025, doubt it’s effectiveness as a weapon but don’t discount it’s danger if handled improperly.

pretty awesome
I bought this crossbow just to have something to shoot at targets while out camping, was surprised at the punch this little guy has, after reading some of the reviews i wasnt going to purchase it but it occured to me that most people want something worth $100 when they only spend $10 so i ordered it, and im glad i did!! Most of the bad reviews are from human error that they are blaming on the product, it was super easy to put together except for the string which takes 2 people to do, me and my wife (she is 90 lbs soak and wet) did it in about a minute, i put pressure on the bow to bend it and she strung it, simple! When you shoot it you have to remember to push the metal part that pulls the string back forward to its original position, if you leave it pulled back and fire the string will push it forward causing some chip damage. all and all this is a awesome product if you know what you doing, going to order some as gifts for some friends and for my 2 boys!!!

Middle Aged Birthday Gift
I actually bought this for myself for my birthday. I wanted to learn to shoot a cross bow and have absolutely no knowhow. I was very pleased when I opened it. I did read the reviews of others both pros and cons were noted. I read the instructions on the box which were easy to understand and follow. My experience so far: 1) for sure needed another person to get the string on the bow, 2) the arrow/bolts are a bit on the fragile side..I ordered more, 3) the screws have not come undone and it has not broken apart or fallen apart at all, 4) have to adjust the sites about every 3rd arrow/bolt, 5) wish it would have come with a bolt quiver mounted on the bow, 6) the only problem I've had is that the string likes to twist itself off one side of the tip end of the clip after about 3 shots..need to find a fix-it for this 7) fairly accurate shooting 8) I'm an absolute novice, beginner...this is NOT A TOY...it will shoot through an animal or person..good thing for the safety, love my tootsies too, 9) I love shooting it, 10) was well worth the price for my first time experience...I want to learn more :D

Broken on the first day!
I can’t imagine using this to actually hunt anything that is alive because it would be animal cruelty to shoot something with this. It might take all of about 5 bolts and 3 hours for something to pass. The problem is the make. It’s completely ready to fall apart the minute you get the bow on because the very first time I went to fire it the bow actually came above the frame and missed the bolt all together. I have many crossbows some by the same company as this is made, and I’ve been really happy with the outcome and choices I have made. Be aware these smaller crossbows aren’t really meant for hunting. They’re really for young children who need practice at a target first before they ever go hunting and also these crossbows can teach weapon safety and be used to teach children about gun safety because beware aware if you ever leave one of these in the fire configuration it won’t matter if you have the safety set or not in will probably fire at the worst moment and provide the child or adult about weapon safety with just this alone

There is no instruction. It is the responsibility of the seller to provide instruction if he sells it assembled. This cross bow is made of plastic, the nuts should have locking washers, it kept loosening from vibration and the plastic pull holder is also made of plastic. The trigger mechanism that is held by the plastic loosened spilling the spring and it is very difficult to replace because of poor design a slight grove in the back could have made it easier. It fires up to a distance of about 30', not accurately. I used it for shooting a wire across a crawl space (tied a fishing line to retrieve the wire). It therefore served my purpose,2 of the bolts failed to fire. I doubt that it will hold up for more than 30 or 40 shots, if you need consistency and longer useful life, look elsewhere for a little more money.

Be Careful!
Ordered and super easy to put together. But the auto on mine was scary! If you went to pull the trigger and safety was the bolt wouldn't fire but then it would fire on its own about 1.5 seconds later. Auto safety? More like like surprise safety, put a good 100 rounds through then the plastic cap thingy on the end you wrap the string around shattered. Still giving two stars due to the fact I may have done something wrong. Be nice if you could order a replacement but the safety scares me. But super fun to shoot and way powerful, sites are kinda floppy so once set don't bump it around. Perfect for a random Sunday afternoon to screw around in the backyard. Wouldn't take it to the field for small game, you'll end breaking it or shooting yourself or a friend. Hit the right spot I wouldn't doubt it could kill a person BE CAREFUL!
