Does what its says it can do
What a great scanner . Very well made and well protected in strong case. Straight out the box very easy to update and setup. Used first on my dads Bmw 46 1999 and even older models good and fast output from ems. Next my Kia to reprogram locking fob Kia wanted £210 ebay bay £14 and programed using scanner in 1 min. the screen is bright and wifi working well from my garage to house. Tried three new scanners this last few months and this was only one that did the things I wanted keys ect. This scanner does do what it says it can do very good software and the advantage of tablet system for other programs. Battery life is very good and can also be charged incar via usb. Would I recommend this scanner for this price range its a big yes diy or garage a good buy.

Worked a treat for me - don’t be put off by negative reviews
I work in automotive design and have a number of tools already and some proprietary OEM ones but sometimes you need something quick and easy. This is it.I got this as my old tool was a custom one I had built for ssangyong and VW models and the misses had a MIL light on her 2014 focus and I suspected injectors were likely.Item arrived next day - I was actually abroad when I placed the order and flew home following day to have device with me about an hour after I walked through the door. Perfect delivery.I had read a couple of negative reviews regarding already registered parts, not UK stocks etc and was worried, but also reassured as there was the usual Amazon return guarantees. I need not have worried as this was brand new sealed (well packaged) and no sign of anyone opening any of it before. So again don’t be put off by those comments.I had also researched a lot of devices and the Autel actually put me off because of the high annual subscription costs. Topdong looked a good piece of kit and a like for like comparison this device was about £100 more than the topdong that claimed a few more features. However I knew the autel name from years ago when looking for diagnostic tools before and they are a general go to brand name for diagnostic tools. You may have seen the reviews mentioning registration etc. This was easy but make sure you go to the web address in the booklet that comes with the device and follow the booklet steps. Autel UK has a thing about not supporting units sourced anywhere else except in the UK which in todays world is very short sighted.Once you get to the site it will ask you to register and enter a few codes to register the device. Then then you’re all set.On the device you set up your network and then the first thing to do is check the updates. There will likely be a main program update and then most of the vehicle brands. I updated everything necessary for the Ford and headed out to the car.Using it was easy. Plugged into the car, didn’t even have to pair the Bluetooth OBD link to the device it just worked. The auto VIN feature worked too and soon I was looking at a few error codes associated with the MIL light we had.In our particular case there were two DPF DTC’s. So knowing wifey does a lot of short journeys I opted to run the DPF forced regen. Pressed the button and followed the screens. No the regen started and at the point when the engine revs to 2300 it rev’d and then came back to idle and then the test carried on to the time on the clock. I always thought the regen was a hot long run at high revs but trusted the device. Regen over (I thought), cleared codes and restarted. Mil light went off and then came back on.So pulled codes and then used the guided diagnostics feature which allowed to check the two codes. It’s kind of good as it takes you straight to a Google search result of a video where someone has diagnosed and repaired the issue (and not always using Autel devices either).Video 2 led me straight to the problem by pointing out a sensor and when I looked at it I had a broken wire at the back of a terminal. One new terminal crimped and boom it was repaired.Cleared codes and restarted and mil light was back on but this time just one code. So hit a DPF regen again and this time it rev’d for the whole test and after that run the issue has gone. That’s when I realised the first regen had failed at the first high rev but device didn’t tell me. It knew as the revs went down but it should have perhaps said “ test aborted - no output from pressure sensor”Howeve I am really pleased with this box of tricks. As for my software update subscription- I’ll probably end up buying a new one as technology changes. I need CAN FD too really so I may sell this in a year or so and buy another although there is an FD CAN adapter available for this too.A few weeks in now and a few updates have been available which shows there is continuous support.Very pleased with my purchase and a worthwhile tool in the arsenal.*** a few weeks after my purchase I was contacted by the seller to ensure I was happy with everything and offering a free gift in of an endoscope or small diagnostic toolAgain great service for the company. Don’t be put off by the negative reviews.

Intuitive and Easy to Use... An epic addition to any tool box!
I had an ABS and misfire issue with my Fiat 500. I contacted Autel to ask if the intial scanner I was looking at would be suitable. Their response was immediate. Once I'd given the VIN numbers for the vehicles I owned they promptly advised me which scanner I needed. It was the MK808BT. The machine arrived 48 hours later.TOP TIP: The scanner will need to be registered and software updates installed before you can use it. I did it over night so I was ready to go first thing.Within a few minutes of scanning the Fiat 500 the scanner gave me the codes for the ABS fault tracing the issue to the rear left wheel speed sensor and showed the misfire to be no. 1 cylinder. There's a search function in the software, so when you get the codes you can hit search and you're taken directly to the internet... Brilliant!I cleaned the sensor and contacts and the fault was cleared. The misfire was cleared with a oil reset and ECU recalibration for oil service (the ECU records hightlighted by the scanner showed the previous two garages had not done this!). The car is fixed and I was able to clear the codes. The great thing about the MK808BT is the fact there are NO CABLES. The BT on the end of the model number denotes Blue Tooth version. This meant I could have the dongle plugged into the OBD port but I'm free to walk around the car with the tablet in hand. This was pivitol to diagnosing dirty contacts on the ABS Senors as I could have the tablet in hand and watch the live sensor readouts while turning the hub.Bad Point? Well there's one: You can only have free updates for the first year and then you pay for further updates afterwards. If your a garage and the unit is earning thats fine, but as a home user, that's disapointing. However it doesn't mean you can't use the scanner, you simply can't update it without paying. If your not changing your car that's fine and it won't be an issue. If there were free liftime time updates the MK808BT would be utterly unbeatable. Maybe you'd consider that Autel? In conclusion, this bit of kit has raised my game in my home garage significantly and has probably earn't itself back in just these two fixes. Also I don't have to pay a garage to change the oil just so they can reset the service light and update the ECU. Another great use is that I can quickly check for faults when looking at cars to purchase.EPIC work AUTEL and your customer service is second to none, thankyou !!!!
