I did a lot of research before buying this water bottle, and this was one of my two winners based on the following criteria: materials, ease of use, ease of cleaning.Materials: This, like most modern, plastic water bottles is BPA free. Not super special, but important. I didn't want glass, because of weight and breakage concerns.Ease of use: You can easily open and drink from this one-handed. It is a little more difficult to close one handed (hard, but possible). There are two locks to close, one that clicks shut when the lid is closed and an external metal hinge. This is a nice feature to prevent spills when the bottle is transported in a backpack or gym bag, but it does make it difficult to operate one-handed on a bike.Ease of cleaning: I've had water bottles and camelbacks before that have been awesome to use, but they are very difficult to clean every nook and cranny and often develop a musty odor. This bottle is very easy to clean, it's a simple design with few few moving parts.In case you're wondering, the other winner was from the Contigo Autoseal family. Much easier to use one-handed, but the autoseal mechanism is very difficult to clean.

These water bottles are great quality, BPA Free, and the cap seal really works! (I've laid it down in the fridge with no leakage). I like the locking mechanism on the top. The opening to drink from is perfect for drinking and it's large enough to easily clean. It also has a loop on top to grab with your finger when your hands are full or you could probably hook it to a belt loop or something (haven't tried, but I'm sure it would work). I bought a few so I rotate while one is in the dishwasher since I use them at work everyday. I've gotten several complements from co-workers. I can't say enough good things about it. Plus the price was great!

I bought this to keep on my backpack so that I will drink more water throughout the day. It works fairly well for that. I do like the bottle, and the rather wide, open mouth design (straws can be difficult to clean). It also is thin enough to fit into the "water pouch" on my bag. That said, I find the locking mechanisms to be a concern for long term usage. The push button release is already showing signs of wear after 3-4 months of use, and it is getting a bit more difficult to get it to catch when closing the top. Also, the"lock" is a metal clip, that can be difficult to get on and off when on the move, and i could see this wearing down over time as well.

Love when you open the bottle it pops fully open and is ready to drink from. Only requires one hand to use it

Great water bottle

I have tried many different water bottles and always come back to this one. It's the only one that is both spill-proof and easy to use with one hand. It's also very long lasting. I have had to toss other water bottles within 2-3 months before they look worn because they begin failing (leaking, seals fall off, etc). The only problem I've had with this bottle is when the metal lock falls off, which happens with all of them eventually. It can easily be reattached, but that's only if you find it when it falls off. Even so, it's still usable, just no longer spill-proof.

I work in Sierra Leone. We use a SteriPen for sanitizing our water, and these bottles are perfect for this. The 22-oz size is a little smaller than the 1-liter maximum for the sterilizing process, which makes me happy. The opening of the bottle is just the right size for using the SteriPen. We maintain an inventory of 2-3 per each staff person, and make clean water daily in them, using larger sealed bottles as reservoirs.These bottles are durable, having been dropped, kicked, and crunched regularly. The positive locking cap is effective and easy to use one-handed once you get the knack. The oldest is about 8 years old and is pretty disreputable looking, but it still works well. After washing in cold, soapy water, we rinse them in treated water and set them in the sun to dry. (We do not have access to running water, and hate gathering wood for fires to heat water.)

This is the best bottle ! My 8 year old rugged son uses every day for school and all through the summer...and still has not broken...very strong and easy to clean.
