With so many powerful words to live by, I read this book twice. I recommend it to those who are seeking an alternative way to find inner peace.

This book is very easy to read, it is interesting and educational on every page. I enjoyed learning about don Jose Ruizs hometown and the messages he brings from there. It is an interesting story of how the great city of the Aztecs, Tenochtitlan, started - which is where Mexico City is now. The shamans message from the fire to his people was "When the eagle of truth devours the snake of lies in the garden of your mind, then you will find a home within yourself- you will find your own personal freedom." The message from this book is the wisdom you seek is inside you. I look forward to sharing this book with my teenage boys, as well. Thank you don Jose Ruiz!

All of the books published by the Ruiz family are golden, but this is my favorite. It's such a precious treasure and everything about it makes it so, from the fonts to the paper to the absolute beauty and simplicity of the teachings and how Don Jose chose to present them in his warm, loving, compassionate manner. It is truly a gift to those who are looking for a reduction of suffering in their lives and a growth of joy and happiness. Wisdom that is thousands of years old, yet absolutely spot on today, it evokes deep reflections and ways to grow your happiness.

As I pursue my Shamanic path, I found this book to be helpful and informative. I recommend this book to anyone on a similar path to mine.

I came across this book and felt called to purchase it so I did… I almost read the entire book during an 11-hour road trip… I resonate with the language and everything written… however, it’s the “unexpected” that’s very very powerful. I believed, at this point, I healed from a past trauma as much as I could or “needed to” until I was guided through one of the practices in the book… it’s an inquiry and doesn’t put you too far into the trauma vortex. You just have to keep reading and breathing. This revealed so much for me that I wasn’t seeing (or willing to see) and it is clear now… what has been holding me back in my life and where it continues to… I get to choose differently now.. thank you, Don Jose Ruiz… and for the ancestors. Forever and ever grateful. 🙏

I’d recommend this book to anyone. Even if you are not sure what a shaman is, this book is full of great advice and stories.
