I have been looking for an ice shaver that works great and reasonably priced. So glad I found it here. I can make halo-halo now for my grandkids.

This chews through ice like a snowplow. There only one problem, the bowl that comes with it is a joke. Even a bigger bowl is inadequate. I rigged a contraption with a piece of plastic rain gutter to direct the ice flow into a zipper bag. 20 pounds of ice yields about 6-7 gallon bags of crushed ice. There are two secrets to getting good crushed ice. You must use "dry," that is, not melting ice. I buy ice, and stick it in the freezer for a few hours before crushing. Second, the crushed ice must be immediately put back into the freezer. If either of these is not done, the crushed ice will melt slightly and the whole thing will re-freeze into a block of ice.

This thing is awesome and great for the price!!! Way better built and more sturdy than the cheap 40$ plastic things that break fast and spit out ice chunks and take 5 minutes to grind a cup of ice!. Pay 2x that an you get a kick ass snow cone/ice shaver. You get a cup full of perfectly shaved ice in literally 5 seconds. You can have shaved ice for mixed drink or snow cones for a whole party in about 10 minute enough shaved ice for like 50 snow cones/margaritas!! Worth every penny!!!!

I bought this in 2018 and now it is 2021. My daughter likes to eat plain ice. This has been one of my very best Amazon purchases ever. We have snow anytime we want it. It is so convenient because you just use ice cubs. It still works like brand new.

Maybe mine needs adjustment?? IT does crush ice, but it is "chunkier" than other ice shavers I have used.And design of discharge chute and bowl could be better. You have to tilt and spin bowl or make a mess.
