Ideal for caregivers
There are 2 people we take care of that wear medical / compression stockings. They often have bandages or dressings that we have to go over, which was a major nightmare trying to slide over with regular donning devices. These are absolutely amazing to work with. I am a little worried about how long they'll hold up, but no issues thus far.If you are not able to reach your own toes, these will not work well for you.As a caregiver I find it easy to put a sock on one arm, roll the sock off my arm onto the donner, then roll it off the donner onto the patient. Faster and more comfortable for the patient. The tower was really only for patients with something on the socks we wouldn't want to get on us.

I love this device!
This item is amazing! I did a lot of research on this product before purchasing it. The negative reviews made me a little nervous but after watching multiple You-Tube videos (including a 6-year-old girl using it to put on her grandfather's hose) and being very desperate, I decided to take a chance. I am using it to apply my mother-in-law's compression stockings, which without any donning aid takes me about 15-20 minutes for the pair. She constantly wiggles and pushes against me "trying" to help the process, but it really makes it harder. With this device, it now takes me about 5 minutes for the pair...YAY!!! I've just gotten back over an hour a week. After using the Doff N' Donner, I think it would be more difficult to use if I were donning the stocking on myself as opposed to using it to put them on someone else, so that may be one of the reasons some of the reviews are negative. I don't use it to take off the stockings though, I just pull them off.I have been using the Doff N' Donner for about 2 weeks now, and have a few tips to pass along for anyone who might be having trouble. My first piece of advice is to look this thing up on You-Tube and watch some examples of people using it. I think that helped me more than anything else and was the real selling point for me. I did not purchase the cone applicator thing with it, but went to the local hardware store and purchased a dowel about as big around as a toilet paper tube. I sanded down the top rim so it's smooth and it works great. WAY less than $99 bucks. The key to a successful application I've found is that when you're loading the stocking onto the Doff N' Donner, make sure it is on smoothly. If there are any creases in the stocking when it's on the Doff N' Donner, those creases will transfer on to the recipients leg. Again, watching the You-Tube videos really helped with technique there.I can't say enough about how happy I am with this purchase. I do think it is expensive for what it actually is, but keeping in perspective of how much time it has saved me just in the last couple of weeks I've had it, it is well worth the price. If it eventually pops or ruptures or gets damaged in any way, I would definitely replace it.

Updated from my original post
UPDATE FROM POST FROM AUGUST 2024:I bought this donner in August of 2024.I've enjoyed using this one I bought last year.....until ....last few days I noticed a thin round spot on the donner. Now today February 25, 2025, roughly 6 months from when I purchased this one, it broke open and that liquid on the inside came spilling out that thin spot. Had to throw it away. I had purchased a back up, just in case, and I'm glad I did!Yes this one from August has been great. It was easier to put on than the older ones I've had in the past.Does it last as long as the original one I've used, no.I use mine every day, so I made sure to buy a back up, just in case. I'm glad I did.Would I buy this again?, yes. It does a great job of getting my compression hose on.I have been using Sigvaris donners for around 6 years. The one I bought back then looked the same as this one. This one is MUCH BETTER. Don't know how to describe it, this one has some kind of different liquid inside. And when donning it expands more, so it's easier to put on and take off my compression hose. The old one had more liquid in it, and when used for donning, it was really tight to put on the hose. You can even hear the difference when you shake the donners. I hope Sigvaris has done this to all these new ones, its really a good difference.I would highly recommend these!

Not Easy To Use
This item sounded like a great idea, until you get it & try it. If you have swollen legs and you need to wear compression socks, this Doff and Dunner does not go on as easily as it looks. I’ve tried several times and the heal of the sock ends up in the middle of the foot’s arch! I would not recommend purchasing this item especially for how much it costs.

Need perseverance.
Difficult to use. Takes a lot of practice to get it to work right. Once you master a technique it is helpful to prevent arthritis flare up in your hands.
