Sufficient padding, long-lasting, and washable
When I set up my home gym in the fall of 2005, I got a heavy bag at a local sporting goods store. I had used one at the last commercial gym I trained at and really liked it. I bought a couple of pairs of boxing gloves with the bag. I used them for several years, until they began to smell so much I couldn't stand them. So I checked Amazon and looked for new gloves. These Everlast gloves appealed to me, as the description said they were washable, so I ordered a pair in April 2010. They worked just fine, padding my hands sufficiently for hitting the heavy bag. I tried washing them (in cold water and hang dry), and they came out just fine with no damage. So I ordered a second pair in June of the same year. That way, I always have one pair that doesn't smell, while I am washing the other pair. But I don't need to what them very often, maybe once or twice a year.I only hit the heavy bag once or twice a week for my morning cardio (I walk on other days), but I have been doing so with these gloves for over four years (it now being October 2014), and I've washed them several times. Both pairs are still in fine condition. So I am giving these Everlast gloves five stars for providing the needed padding for hitting a heavy bag, for being long-lasting, and for being washable.

I love these gloves.
Everlast really made a great product with this design. The thumb holes allow them to fit a range of sizes, fitting my 10yr old son and my average sized hands comfortably. They've been holding up nicely to my gym routine (3x/week), making them a real asset to carry with me in my gym bag.I'm baffled at the reviews complaining of no thumb protection or lack of support. I feel that if I were to actually throw a swing at someone, it would be bare knuckled (unless the target was polite enough to offer me time to put on my gloves with extra thumb protection). Seriously... thumb protection???I will admit there's a lack of wrist support, but if it's needed, it means you're hitting wrong (refer back to the bare knuckled comment) and one should work on hitting technique rather than the ability to wrap a wrist (or protect their thumbs).Stitches may break, but that's to be expected at this price point. I highly recommend them as a "must have" for building confidence, cardio, and stress therapy in a work out routine. These gloves are a great value and an excellent choice for training on a heavy bag.

Great gloves think and great for quick workout
The gloves are great and just what I was looking for. The quality is not amazing, the inside lining started to tear but they are amazing for what I wanted and I love them. Maybe the elastic string by the wrist also could be better, but I'll be buying another pair when theae give out.Thia is for people that like punching the bag and not worry about big gloves or hand wrapping.

Huge hands need these thumbless gloves
I use these both on a heavy-bag and for sparring (because 16oz boxing gloves are ridiculous in size, and I don't want to buy them. They work great on the bag, protecting my knuckles just enough but still letting me feel the impact in a direct way. They are showing no signs of wear after 6 uses.Oh, and the big thing with these, they have a hole for the thumb to go through. That works great, considering I have very large hands and don't want my thumb bunched up (this was severe with other heavy-bag gloves). The price seems reasonable considering their versatility, comfort, and durability.

... Perfect!
I have a heavy bag and workout with dvd workouts. The problem with the standard boxing gloves is that I had to take my glove off in order to press play for the workout I wanted to do, as well as when I wanted to pause the workout, or even drink water, etc., I saw these online and decided to try them and I am so glad that I did. I can now push play and don't have to worry about rushing to try to put the glove back on so as not to lose too much workout time. Padding is great as well.FYI: They run small. I am female and my hands are small and they fit just right. I would say that these gloves are more for women with small hands. My hands measure, without the thumb, around the knuckles, 7.5, that's pretty small. I highly recommend this product.

Great value, but not the best protection
I have been using these for a few week. Overall, the value for the price on them is pretty good. They are not the best gloves, but for the price, cant really go wrong. My biggest problem with them is that they are fairly thin. Using them for an extended time does start to wear on the knuckles a little. I do really like that it has open thumb holes, and they are extremely easy to put on and take off. They are lightweight and breathable which is nice when really working up a sweat. I would recommend if planning to use sparingly and not punching a bag with full force repeatedly. For more often use, or full power punches, I'd recommend something with a little more padding.

Good for the money
I bought these to use to hit the heavy bag with at the gym. I don't go all out, but hit the bag for 4 3 minute rounds. They worked fine. They provided enough cushion so as not to hurt my hands, yet light enough to keep them cool.A month later and they still are fine.Very good value for the money. The only negative is, it is one size fits all and if you have big hands they may be tight.Otherwise a good value.

Boxing gloves
Boxing clothes are specifically designed to provide comfort and protection during boxing workouts. They are made with breathable fabric to help keep you cool and dry, and the material is durable and flexible to allow for a full range of motion. Additionally, many boxing clothes come with added padding in the areas that need it most, such as the elbows and shoulders, to provide extra protection during sparring or other intense workouts.
