Great addition to the Yakuza Series
I'm a long time fan of the Yakuza series, I was a little sceptical of this one since it's a new protagonist, new combat system, new Setting etc. Ichiban is a worthy successor to Kiryu, now he's not as strong Kiryu and is overall the opposite. Is more hot headed and outspoken then the calm and cool Kiryu, and has a party as opposed to Kiryu's one man army. But that's not a bad thing. The story is your classic Yakuza writing that strikes the perfect balance between serious and zany, it can be a little cliche at times but is overall very enjoyable. The combat is now turn based as opposed to the previous fighting style, it is different and I personally prefer the previous combat style but its still fun. Minigames are good, with some new ones and many returning ones. This game is mostly set in Isezaki Ijincho Yokohama, which is nice enough map to explore, Kamourocho Tokyo still appears however. The game also offers you an English voice option for the first time since the original Yakuza, personally I stuck with the Japanese version but I've hard the English ones also good. The characters are nice new match, likeable and interesting. So overall I would say this game delivers.

Amazing Reboot
Was not sure about this game when i purchased it, my fears were laid to rest when i started playing this game. I've been playing the yakuza series since the original yakuza 3 came out in 2010, so was curious where they'd go with he franchise after yakuza 6. Some of the side missions are laugh out loud funny, the low budget ringmaster series of side missions are worth the price of the game alone. Disclaimer: I love persona 5 and persona 5 royal, so really enjoyed the changed fighting system. The story was interesting, as events that happened since yakuza 4 shaped what happens in this game. So far this is my faveourite yakuza game of series, just beating yakuza 6 and yakuza 6 kiwami. There are those that won't like the fighting changes made to the game. Which is a shame, because the changes made to the game i found really enjoyable. I hope in Yakuza: Like a dragon 2, some of the characters from Judgement/Judge Eyes turn up. That would be amazing. It is worth checking out, it's alot of fun.

Great game and beautiful steelbook
The steel book looks and feels amazing, no complaints there. Although the series has drifted into an entirely new format and genre, it's still got all the charm of Ryu Ga Gotaku games past. Extremely grindy at several points during the game but apart from that the game is great. It's the first turn based rpg I've enjoyed and I loved the experience.

Truly bizarre and a great tonic to these times
Really wacky and fun JRPG with a lot of longevity. Wasn't too keen on the turn based combat in the context of this type of city-explorer game, but got used to it.

Amazing game
Having a backlog and never a chance to play Yakuza games, I started this day one day and got hooked to it. The characters and story lines have a charm to them, starts of slow but picks up and gets hard. Great game with a equally as good dubstep/electronic/orchestra soundtrack backing it. Addictive game with lots to do. Must have.

The Hero's Journey
First of all, this is a really fun game! The cast of characters are all endearing and the story never fails to keep me interested. The transition to turn based combat might be jarring for old fans, but give it a chance and it'll grow on you! For newcomers, this is a brand new cast and story so you can jump in without having played past games and it does a pretty good job of filling you in with what you need to know.As for the steel book, it's pretty nice. Not among my favourites, but better than many low effort steel books.

A JRPG triumph
For a developer not known for producing RPGs, this is extremely impressive.Yakuza Like A Dragon ranks up there with Dragon Quest XI and Persona 5 as one of the finest JRPGs of the last few years. The main characters are well developed and engaging, as is the story and multiple side quests. Combat is very satisfying and the job system keeps it all fresh. The typical Yakuza mini games return and are as hilarious and wacky as ever and cunningly woven in to the turn based gameplay. This is a fantastic JRPG and shows that innovation is still possible in the genre.Very much recommended
