When a hood needs replacing, just do it
After a couple of years and a couple thousand miles, my hoods were getting loose and sliding up. not only uncomfortable, but also occasionally obstructing the shifter mechanism. Replacing the hoods is easy. pull off the old ones, and slide these ones on (with the help of some hand sanitizer gel, which slides well and then evaporates). Good as new!
