Lite and tasty
These we saw on Food Network with a traveling chef and they were highlighted in his show. They looked delicious on TV so we ordered a box! I love almonds and these really hit it off with me and my husband! Great for a little bite of something sweet after dinner.

So happy to finally try these!
Wanted to try these for years! Finally ordered them. Arrived in perfect condition. None broken or cracked! Absolutely beautiful. Not as sweet as I expected, but in a good way! A little bitter note to make them interesting! And the candy icing was crackly! The melon dandy was a bit more “doughy” than expected, again incc by a good way! I imagined it being more like a jelly.Absolutely delicious and a nice treat yoself thang!!

These cookies literally taste like wet sand.
I ordered these cookies after seeing them featured on the Food Channel. After watching a demonstration of how lovingly they made, and anticipating the surprise factor these treats would generate from my ethnically French family, I thought they would be a welcome treat to share and celebrate the holidays. Of course, my family clamored to sample a taste of French history, but once I noticed the look of utter disgust on my dear grandmother’s face after taking a bite of the cookie, not to mention my mother’s haste in offering her a napkin to dispose of the offending morsel, I came to deeply regret what I put my family through. After proclaiming how awful these cookies were, several of my family members decided to critique these allegedly highly sought after treats. We all agreed that the cookies tasted like “wet beach sand”. As for the price of these cookies, one would think that they would be packaged in an actual tin and not a minuscule plastic box that, incidentally, was dented in transport. The inner packing of the plastic box was actually quite pretty, with the cookies overlayed in waxed paper accentuated by a cut lace border. The adornments promised a delicious taste of France, but the taste of these tiny cookies made one wonder if the bakers misread some of the ingredients since the morsels had a truly an odd, pungent, and unsavory taste.I’ll be requesting a refund and recommend that you stay away from this Andrew Zimmern cookie recommendation—Perhaps this is one bizarre food he should have tossed straight into the trash.

Not so tasty.
I was so excited to try these after seeing them on Bizare Foods. Definitely not the tastiest confection I've ever had. They're so pretty and dainty, just not too big on flavor. I could definitely pick up the citrus flavor, but the almond flavor not really at all. Maybe it tastes better in France. Here though, I say you can pass.

Smaller box than I expected
Smaller box than I expected (see photos) although the box did contain 20 calissons per as advertised. The texture was just as should be expected from a calisson, with a dense and moist melon filling, a light, crisp top and chewy foundation; however, the flavour of Chabert & Guillot’s calissons is superior to this brand, Léonard Parli. Still, the calissons were delicate and satisfying.

Not much flavor, would not buy again or recommend
I love calisson and thought I would treat myself to these even though the price was a little steep. The actual sweets themselves don't have much flavor, they taste more like a dry marizpan than other calisson I tasted in Aix. Not much fruit flavor, and like I said – very dry overall. If I think of these as marzipan instead of calisson they're ok... but I definitely would not buy these again or recommend them. They don't give you a good idea of what calisson are like. Also, the container they come in is pretty cheap. I thought for the price they would at least be packaged in a tin, but I guess I do not read that clearly enough in the description. That might've impacted my decision to purchase since I was hoping I could reuse the container :/
