Good game. Two can play.
The media could not be loaded. My son is 6 and loves this game. Two people can play. We play with him. When two people play it's only the characters Jim and Claire. You add the second player after the introduction of the game (when they all talk) it seems like a fun game. Obstacles and things to beat lol different stages to clear. Each level he said there is 4 stages. We did have to Google one part how to do it. We said "how would we know" lol FYI it was the jumping part to each step, we jump on. We had to hit it and it would flip over and we jump onto the next one. There is new characters in here that is not in the show, I believe lol. Claire has a portal powerWould recommend. game arrived intact. So far no issues.

very juvenile
graphics and game play are right out of the early 1990's. this is not what i thought i was buying at all. very dialogue heavy game with zero ability to skip through the chats. graphics are terrible and the game play is very simple and a total side scroller much like Mario brothers.mini games are silly.only redeeming quality is i think my 5 year old might like this game...

Rise Trollhunter!
Spoiler alert off the top that seeing as how Trollhunters: Defenders of Arcadia is a very niche game with a very niche audience, I am assuming anyone interested in playing it has seen Guillermo Del Toro’s Tales of Arcadia trilogy. If you have not, I would avoid reading this review any further.A quick scan of the internet when looking up Trollhunters: Defenders of Arcadia doesn’t reveal a whole lot. Many retailers didn’t even order copies to have on hand when it went on sale and even for the most hardcore gamer, this is a very under-the-table release by a small company (Outright Games) that is specifically geared for an audience that is a fan of all 3 Tales of Arcadia shows. Even if one is a fan of the show, there is a good chance they might not be aware this game exists at all. With many of the reviews out there being quite poor, I felt as a fan of the shows and someone who has completed the game, it would be a disservice to not offer a fair account of what one should expect if deciding to purchase.Realistically I would rate this game a 3 ½ but am going a tad higher to offset the negative press it has been receiving. The 2 elephants in the room appear to be geared towards the fact it is a 2.5-D platformer (a la 8-bit era Mega Man or Castlevania) and that it is riddled with bugs. Other than 1 audio bug towards the tail end of the game (which a reset handily dealt with), I experienced no bugs whatsoever during my playing time. The 2D platforming aspect is passé but it does have its charm, especially for someone looking for a throwback to yesteryear. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. As mentioned, Trollhunters: Defenders of Arcadia is based upon the Tales of Arcadia trilogy of shows: Trollhunters, 3Below, & Wizards. Even more specific, the story is spun off of the 3Below episode D’aja Vu (which I would highly recommend re-watching before playing). The strength of this game is in the writing. Not only did it maintain series continuity but it was able to do so telling an original story outside of the established canon. Moreover considering Wizards just released earlier this year, it is obvious both were developed simultaneously as to tie in all characters and story arcs from the entire trilogy which was very cool and a lot of fun. This game does have drawbacks but they were always negated by the obvious love and appreciation for the source material the developers clearly had an affinity for. My only complaint in this regard was using Angor Rot as an ally when Draal was the only character who did not even sniff a cameo in this game. For those familiar with the series pointing to the obvious, Vendel is in it and time travel is involved so no excuses there. The gameplay is very simplistic in nature. So much so that some cinematics to carry the base story would have gone a long way. Starting out, the game is pretty much a 2 button masher. By the end however, you pick up 4 (or 5) allies and a number of upgrades/abilities that you’ll not only have at your disposal but that the game does a good job of forcing you to utilize as the stages begin to increase in difficulty. There are items you can buy in Trollmarket to assist you but truthfully when I did, they didn’t work as advertised (i.e. one gives 5 seconds of invincibility but you can still die jumping on spikes). The armor upgrades are costly but well executed, with currency coming from defeating enemies and clearing stages. Speaking of enemies, the developers did a really nice job of keeping all of the enemies from all the shows in the series in the game. No enemy was “made up” just for the sake of giving you something to fight. Even though some of their placements don’t make sense, it was still a lot of fun to see. There are hastily put together side quests and a few mini-games that break up the norm. The game is a lot of fun because of how true it parallels the lore it is based on but it all feels like a missed opportunity. The voice cast is 90% the original actors but the voice work is uneven at best. Opening up the world a bit more, removing the confines of 2D (and their accompanying load times), and taking a more pseudo-RPG approach could have added enough depth to make this more a lengthy and memorable adventure. The character designs are decent enough and if you are a trophy hunter, the game is a lot of fun to Platinum and not overly difficult to do so. If you are a fan of the series, you will enjoy it for what it is although $40 is a heavy ask given the generic presentation and short shelf life to complete. But whatever shortcomings one could argue is offset by the love Outright Games clearly had for the property, assuming your expectations remain reasonable going in. And finally there is this selling point-- until the Trollhunters: Rise of the Titans movie concludes all things Tales of Arcadia in 2021, this is the only standalone story to tie all 3 shows together which is (almost) worth the price of admission alone.

Fun multiplayer game
My kiddos have spent lots of hours on this game (and I've spent a few myself!) Great multiplayer setup, fun quests, and no issues with the product. Awesome buy if you're familiar with the last kids on earth series.
