I was a little nervous about ordering this item because of the price and size and even when the package arrived it was so lightweight that I thought surly this was a mistake, but when I removed it from the box and took my first look I was completely in love. Very well painted and just an absolute beautiful piece.

I love Jesus! I have religious relics from all over and he just fits my decor so perfectly. He is made of plastic but is very heavy weight. I do see a lot of imperfections but that’s what makes us all perfectly imperfect! He fits perfectly on my mantle!

This statue brings a sense of peace and calmness. It's well made and very detailed.

I like this statue so much! In the mornings and evenings I like to take a few minutes to pray and to study the Bible, and I always sit in a particular spot on my bedroom floor. I'm also a huge fan of the inspirational writings by Buddhist monk Thich Nhat Hanh, who has previously written on the importance and value of carving out a place of sacred rest in your own home.As such, I have this statue sitting in a helpful spot, up on a chest of drawers. This statue has become the anchor for the peaceful bedroom corner where I privately perform my morning and evening prayers. (My husband was initially intimidated by this statue's size, and he wondered if we really had room for it. In retrospect, the statue isn't so gigantic; its size is a perfect anchor for the houseplants and LED candles I've set around it.)To sit before this particular image of Christ—and this image is certainly a provocative one, since it is so rare to see Christ depicted in prayerful communion with His Father—and to close my eyes with Him, and study with Him, has added a wonderful sort of weightiness to my private spiritual practice. Besides being a very artistic and loving rendering of Christ, I think this particular sculpture is a wonderful tool, one that could benefit the type of Christian disciple who seeks a personal relationship with Christ. To look upon this statue is to feel "engaged" with it.Reverent depictions of "Christ as King" certainly have their place, but "Christ as Man" (or "Christ as devoted worshiper") is also an aspect of Christ's life worth dwelling on. (I actually keep a second, bronze statue of Christ nearby—also from Amazon!—and I look toward that more traditional icon anytime I want to express reverence toward "Christ as King," if that makes any sense at all. I find myself looking toward both statues, depending on my spiritual "need.")Many of the folks who positively-reviewed this statue are collectors of Buddha figurines, so I am compelled to add that this statue would also be great for any non-Christian who happens to believe that Christ was a righteous prophet and person. I think that's a great and powerful use of this statue, too!I will say one thing—and I only say this because it actually confounds my prayerfulness somewhat. When the statue arrived, there was a distinctive white splotch in Christ's beard, where the bronze/gray-colored paint had been scraped in transit. It didn't bother me enough to return the statue for another... but it does bother me when I'm praying, because I often find myself staring at it and wondering if I can ever find a gray nail polish to match against His beard. NOT the type of thing you want to be thinking about compulsively when you're attempting to pray prayers of thanksgiving!Except for Jesus' scuffed beard, this statue is pretty perfect. I recommend it to anyone who feels moved by this particular image. If you're "moved" by the image of the statue here on Amazon, just imagine how moving it will be in your own home! It's wonderful. Enjoy it!

I tried to place this in varying areas of my home and finally found a great spot in my bedroom. A well made, lovely reminder of God's available love and peace as I go to sleep.

99% sure this is not real wood (even though the description says the material is wood). Upon receiving this item, it was pretty easy to tell that the material is some sort of hard plastic. That being said, the item is still lovely.

One of the best items I have ever bought in my life, really. I believe in mediation, and its power, and this confirms it in a positive and good light. The One who is light is portrayed, making it special, holy if you will, good you might say. Now my meditations are confirmed in HIm, who is the source of true spirituality. I love it, i adore it, I am so pleased, and happy with it, the size is big, and it seems well, made. It symbolizes faith, peace, spirituality and mediation, it symbolizes Himself, Jesus. For spiritualists, seekers, alternative Christians, I highly recommend this, for those who believe in meditation, holistic living, for therapy and spiritual growth. He looks handsome, and gentle and has his hands open to all those who seek out for him, his hands open for those who will, welcoming them to a higher purpose, a higher dimension, prayer and faith. Truly a unique and amazing treasure!
