It works very well as advertised but it tends to slide out of my hand because of its tiny size.

I draw car accident scenes on a regular basis. This is my sharpener for 2mm lead. It gives a nice point that won’t break with quality lead.

This is the best sharpener I've used for 2mm & 3.15 mm leads. It sharpens to a beautiful point like my previous Staedtler (pictured with Alvin) that I think by now it is vintage. Forgot when I got it, but it stopped sharpening and it came time for me to get a new one unfortunately. I have an Alvin sharpener which is great but messy and not practical to use on the go, but it sharpened perfectly and was a great replacement until I found this Staedtler sharpener. Very happy!

Don't be fooled by the body encapsulating the razor. It won't protect you from loose shavings. The actual sharpening, however, is adequate.

Using it to sharpen pegwood for watch repair. Works great.

Good quality sharpener with a few details:- While the cap keeps the shavings from falling out, they can get out through the holes.- The printing on the cap obstructs the view of the lead tip which is relevant because you have to manually stop.- It doesn't leave the point as sharp as the Staedtler 502, but this one has 2 size holes for different leads.- A bit on the expensive side considering options like Kum or the Staedtler 502.A good sharpener if you need a portable one and you don't need the finest point. If you need a finer point and don't need the 3.15mm sharpener you might be better getting something like the Staedtler 502.

I was expecting it to be like a regular size sharpener, it is definitely smaller than I thought it would be according to the productphoto. I like the Staedtler brand of products, but would recommend customers try their traditional lead pointer sharpener.
