Old School but built to last a lifetime
My wife had an old pair that was missing the set screw. I bought these to upgrade her sewing kit. They are very old school but she likes them and they will last a lifetime or more.

Once opened doesn't close unless coaxed
I think the pressure between the two blades is too high or something, but when the scissors are opened they blades misalign and catch instead of closing. Makes them next to impossible to use.

Cutting button holes in handmade garments is always a challenge. Is the opening big enough? or will I cut the end stitches if I cut it a little farther. These scissors make accurate cuts every time because you adjust the screw to the correct size before you cut.

This scissor was much heavier than one I used in the past. It felt clumsy in my hand.

NOT POSSIBLE to cut buttonholes with this
The blades of this scissors hit each other at the square point of each blade next to the "hole" in the scissors blades. This scissors would be impossible to use to cut buttonholes or anything else.The problem is NOT that I don't know how to use the scissors. I've been making buttonholes for over 50 years and no longer have the scissors I originally used.
