Cash Acme 1/2 Inch V-101 Anti-Siphon Vacuum Breaker, Brass Plumbing Fitting, 17383-0000F

My Handyman installed this valve on my irrigation system water source. It was about 100 bucks cheaper than the valve device they were selling at Lowe's. It was delivered to me in one day. It is working fine and no leaks!

The stupid little plastic vacuum breaker in my 5th wheel failed and water was spraying out making a mess. Fortunately, we were home when it failed, and I was able to shut off the water before we had a flood. I decided I was going to upgrade from the cheap plastic and purchased this one. I have much more confidence in this brass breaker. The price was much better that some of the other ones which were more expensive. I did have to buy two small 1/2" nipples to make it fit my application, but all is good again.

Simple as that, got new part, installed it done...works..no leaks anymore. I just unscrew the fittings, added more Teflon tape and was done. Good working product for my RV as I am fulltimer, it is important to get parts 100% working. Thank you

I could have saved money and gotten the 1/2” version, but I decided to use 3/4” all the way to pool auto fill PVC line that was 1”. Installation is easy, and I got the lead-free version (pay attention when you order to LF, part numbers are different). Saved me an $800 quote by the plumber, but he wanted to use those vacuum valves that come preassembled with shutoff valves. In my case, installing valves myself allowed me to put this very close to the wall without worrying about the turning radius. I also used a PVC ball valve union for outlet valve instead of traditional ball valves for easy maintenance and possible future repair/replacement. Very satisfied with the results. Thanks for reading, and YMMV.Update:This valve failed in about 6 months. It could not handle the high pressure of water from pool pump. We installed a reduced pressure zone (RPZ) unit, and everything seems fine for now. If you have constant pressure load on these, they would not last, and will contaminate the drinking water line.

I purchased this to install in my camper. Everything worked as it should.

This anti-syphon valve is NOT suitable for continuous service. Per the C-A Basic Installation Instructions: "Note: these valves shall not be subjected to more than twelve hours of coninuous pressure".I bought this to go on our swimming pool fill water line and (per C-A) it will fail if left under constant pressure. It is suitable for use on water lines with a control valve upstream of this valve such as a sprinkler or irrigation circuit that is on (pressurized) less than 12 hrs.FYI- Amazon has noted this lack of detail in the description & accepted the valve back as a return for full credit.
