Leupold BX-2 Alpine HD Binoculars, 12x52mm (181179)

I knew Leupold was good but these seriously amazed me. Looking through these in low light was incredible. I didn't know any pair of binoculars could work this well in low light. I got the 12x52 version and they weren't as bulky as I thought they would be. They even can see objects on the other side of my office so I'm estimating about 10ft so close up objects work great with these. Between my rifle scope, spotting scope and these I don't think I'll ever buy glass that isn't Leupold again.

Finally broke down and bought a nice pair of binoculars for hikes and our cruising adventures. Love these Leupold 12x52! The images are so vivid compared to my older Bushnell binoculars. Did a lot of research and determined that these were the one to invest in. Feel great in the hands with a slight tactile surface so as not to slip. Focus rings seems smooth to operate. So far, they have not let me down. The over the shoulder harness strap that's included was okay, but nothing I would use, really. Would be nice if they came with a simple neck strap, but an old camera strap I had worked just fine. I would definitely recommend this binocular.

My son is a hunter and uses the BX-4 Pro version of these same binoculars. It was great experience with his that led me to these. My use is much more casual and so I couldn’t justify the version he has, at twice the price. I am very pleased with these for my occasional bird, wildlife and other observations. Leupold isn’t known for sale prices, but if you can wait a bit, you can find a good deal. Got these for $239. (Regularly $279.)

My wind river 12x50 leopolds are better..these are ok for the money

I love these I think the image quality is excellent. Price is not for the week of heart about $300.00 for the 12x52mm. There might be comparable Binoculars out there, but I am good to go with these. I picked Leupold because I have had good experience with their scopes (my first expensive deer rifle 55 years ago had a 3x9 Leupold scope on it, and that was powerful back then). Now for the Nitpicking I don't know big a head some of these people have out there but, I have to fold these in almost all the way to get a single view with both eyes (I know there is some kind of fancy technical term for that, but I don't know it). My poor little wife is kind of Pettit (her head, hands and feet we don't talk about the rest of her) and she can't bring them close enough for her pupilar distance to make it one circle of viewing. I would think just a little more hump in the hinge in the middle would give it a few more millimeters on the PD for smaller faces.

I read the reviews for binoculars in this price range and these seemed to be the right choice for me. I managed to find these at $239.99 so I got an excellent price as well. They have a substantial look and feel and appear to be able to withstand daily use. They have a clear image and the 52mm lens makes for a good low light experience. Overall, I will recommend these for anyone in the market for a pair of binoculars in this price range.

See just as good as $2k glasses

Let's start with, I'm totally impressed. I bought them for night viewing of the moon and sky. They are better than I could have hoped for. I could clearly see the moon surface. On a different side, I could use these with my glasses. The first time that I've been able to do that. Again very happy.
