HD Animation Webcam

The camera is smaller than I thought, about 5" tall.Looks nice, feels sturdy, good weighted base, it won't tip over.However, no instructions or software came with the product.I plugged it into my laptop USB port and the computer recognised it immediately with a 'beep', however, after that, I could not locate the device, even though my PC stated 'Device Identified'.On the cable is a little toggle wheel, which when turned activates the 6x LED lights atound the camera face.But there is no trigger or button to take a picture, so although this may be useful as a plug-in webcam (which I don't need, as I already have one of those) how this is useful as a stop-frame animation camera (which I bought it for that purpose) is beyond me.Returned for a refund.

I bought this webcam as I needed one for creating stop motion animations with my children rather than trying to use the laptop's integrated camera - and as it was recommended by the site we were using to animate on (Cloud Stop Motion), I thought I'd give it a shot. What a great little buy it turned out to be!The webcam does everything we need it to do - fully poseable yet stays put once set, so no falling over mid animation. The manual focus is great as it meant we could blur in and out between our characters when we needed. Plus the little LED lights are brilliant when you're working close up and need that bit of extra lighting.All in all, I'd fully recommend this to anyone needing a USB webcam for animating with (especially with the free online Cloud Stop Motion software) as it's a great bit of kit that doesn't break the bank!!
