A smooth ride
Psychologically I like to try to average a set distance per day and not worry too much about the effort; but three times a week I go for a good cadence rate of 80 for the intense bit (Iâm 74 so itâs not fast) and go to a High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) plan covering the same distance as on the âfree-wheelingâ days.So testing out this bike, it takes 357 pedal revolutions for one mile. (To get this figure, distance was noted and I cycled three separate sets of 100 revolutions and recorded identical distances for each set.) I had to laugh as this implies [if gearing were one-to-one] a bike wheel circumference of nearly 15 feet, whereas perhaps 7 feet would be nearer the norm. Itâs actually about the circumference of a penny farthing. Of course, gearing ratio on real bikes is not one-to-one.The display can be either in miles or kilometres. Mine was set to miles. The clue is the âmâ at the end for the distance. (Change to kilometres by peddling and holding down the yellow button for about 10 sec and vice versa.) Of course, thereâs no âaccuracyâ for distance on an exercise bike. Itâs only a proxy and based purely on number of pedal turns. Resistance on the bike isnât calibrated but relies on judgement. The serious trainer doesnât rely on resistance and is interested in cadence and heart rate. So letâs look at the pros and cons.ProsEasy to assemble. Compared with my last exercise bike, this was a doddle with my slowing down only at the pedal stage. But see âConsâ for a slight niggle. When looking at the reviews, âease of assemblyâ had 242 positive and 0 for negative. I thought that this looked very suspicious! But I can see why now.The ride feels authentic. The tilt of the saddle can be adjusted, although it took me a while to realise it as it's not mentioned in the book.It has an odometerâwhich is important for me as I have a target distance each day, but I might have more than one session within the day. I wondered if it had an odometer to begin with as the instruction book has next to odometer: â(If have)â.It has âlevellersâ that can be adjusted to get the bike level. For a bike like this it obviously needs to be level so that the fly wheel can spin properly. I havenât used them yet though.Delivery was prompt and no parts missing.ConsThe saddle is not too bad, but Iâve subsequently put on a gel cover, which Iâd used on a previous bike. The handlebar unit could do with another notch or two in height. Thereâs a slight handlebar wobble, probably because it's set at maximum height, which doesnât go away by sliding some folded paper down either side. The display is just over 5 cm wide by 2.5 cmâwhich is too smallâespecially the small pointer that shifts to the next mode every 5 sec. It's annoying that it has only one button as a control. Pressing the one button resets distance time to zero, but not the odometer, of course. The pulse didnât appear to work for me at first; I found I had to push the plug in hard--it doesn't want to go all the way in. Now it works, but usually slips out soon after. Thereâs mention of a clip to the ear, which wasnât included. A reviewer mentions that the display can hold a tablet or mobile phone. Width of slot is just 1cmâslightly too narrow for my mobile with its protective cover.Although assembly was easy, there was one difficulty. The instruction book writes âclockwiseâ and the actual pedal has a circular arrow pointing in the opposite direction and the same problem for the other pedal. The instruction book diagrams although accurate, were too small in places and could have done with a magnified inset for the bits about washers etc. I accept that there were probably language difficulties.Delivery: This is not exactly a âconâ, but I was concerned beforehand about the sole supplier Urevo Fitness. Only about 80% showed ratings of 4 or 5 in the last year when I looked. But then I guess that those satisfied were less likely to give a rating in the first place. Delivery for me was perfect and importantly the package had all the parts in perfect condition.Of interestIn the trouble-shooting section it says: âif thereâs a rattling or grinding soundâŚcheck chain tensionâŚâ It looks like the chain tension can be adjusted and the customer care can be contacted for assistance. They seem to have a good reputation from reviews, so in the long term I suspect one needs to contact them for information on how to open the chain guard door [looks easy enough] for either lubrication or tension adjustment. (Looking back at this review in retrospect, I'm not sure if it does actually a chain given the blurb.)This seems better than the closed unit of the last exercise bike I had. At this initial stage the ârideâ is very smooth, so the chain doesnât affect the feel of the bike.In summary, the bike was delivered very promptlyâdays before they said. The package comes mostly pre-assembled. Itâs heavy and itâs useful having a second person to help at various points. The ride is a good quiet one and perhaps suits the serious rider who wants to spin. Overall, Iâm happy with this reasonably priced bike so far.

Great value, solid bike
Bought as i wanted to do more at home spin classes having struggled to get onto classes at my local gym - like other reviews i did a lot of research, looked at the top end Peloton and then the more affordable end and decided that there were enough good reviews for this Urevo bike and it was affordable.Assembly was very easy with all the tools, i managed to get it upstairs and assemble myself (female in her 50's !) and ive used it a few times now and its very sturdy. Mat a bit on the mean side but it does fit the bike. Easy to move on the wheels, adjustment of gears straightforward and the saddle is really comfortable.Use the rest for my i phone and do free you tube sessions like Gabrielle Guevera.I have used quite a few different bikes at gyms from david lloyd to local ones and i think this stands up well - i'm sure the peloton bikes are super smart and will last forever but at over 4 times the price plus subscriptions i dont think its worth it for an average at home user.

Great Bike.. BUT (Read Below)
This is a great overall bike. i want to cover many things for whoever is reading this so this bike suits your needs perfectly.Delivery: The Delivery was amazing and fast, comes in a big box that needs 2 people to safely Move around.Packaging: The Packaging was great, very secure and insulated from possible damaging from the delivery vehicle or Moving the Package in the Depot. You will need a bit of patience when opening the Product as it is securely wrapped and will take time to get out and all ready to assembleAssembling: The Assemble was not hard at all, all that is required is someone to help you hold parts in place as you screw the bolts in. It is possible to do it yourself but it will be pretty difficult on some of the parts.First Test Trial: The testing of the bike was fun, the wheel is quiet until you add resistance then you will get a little noise but not enough to wake people up in the house i would imagine. Shoes are needed or thick socks when riding the bike as the foot holsters are made of steel and is pretty painful when using it with bare feet or thin socks. The Seat Is Questionable. For me Personally as the time of buying this i was 266 pounds (6 pounds over the weight capacity) it was pretty sore to sit on it for too long, at some points my bottom would go numb, but that may be because i have the bottom the size of my ego.Recommendations: I Cant recommend this enough, place you bike on a hard solid floor. i made the mistake of taking it into my room and using it on a pretty thick carpet and it made the bike feel unstable and almost unsafe if i was to go fast on the bike. USE ON A HARD SURFACE.Disappointments: the only true issue i have with this Bike is the Monitor that comes with it. For me paying ÂŁ160 for this bike I am pretty disappointed at the monitor. it comes with one button and few different modes which im not sure how to operate. i would of liked it if they put more time into it and added a few different buttons mode selections and start/stop and cooldowns.Would I Recommend?: if you can get a hard surface to put it on and are lower that the weight capacity i would recommend it. very minor flaws, great workout or warmups before running/walking or just working out on the bike. if you don't mind the flaws with the monitor or the seat i would highly recommend it to anyone!
