Beware, A&A fans, this one is too good!
Yep. If, like me, you've been playing Axis and Allies for nearly 40 years, you're whole life has been leading up to the holy marriage of A&A Europe 1940 and A&A Pacific 1940. How many hours will you and your pals spend setting these two games up? How many more will be lost in endless non-combat moves and anxious dice rolls? I cannot tell you - I have yet to complete either. Can the perfect game be perfected? I'll let you decide, but please make sure you have a ridiculously large table and a basement you can dedicate to these games. Also, kiss your wife goodbye for at least a year or two, as this game will take over your life.Note: Buying just Pacific is silly. You must buy this as a partner to Europe 2nd edition 1940. They are two halves of one giant perfect whole. Don't say I didn't warn you.

It's a great strategy game.
This game is great if you love strategy boardgames.I bought the original Axis and Allies in the 1980s at an U.S. Army PX. Loved the gaming concept back then and thoroughly enjoyed playing the game.This newer version is Redonklious. It has added quite a few newer game pieces. Not to mention the game board is twice as large as the original. If you buy both European and Pacific Theatres together; you have quadrupled the original 1980s game board design's size. Enough said, be in for some long hours of game play. This is RISK on steroids.Tom

Fun
Long play. Actually, ive only finished a game once or twice with all games being 3-4 hours, including setup.Despite that, it is a fun game.

Purchases for my grandson as a birthday gift and he is enjoying it, as he is interested in history .

2021 version
A&A is a difficult game, I have the 2010 Europe 2nd Edition and bought this Pacific 2nd Edition for a global experience. The version on sale here is the 2021 print but still blends with the older Europe print, the board is maybe an inch larger but the country boundaries still line up perfectly.

Fun game, not super well balanced.
I love Axis and Allies games! I really like how this one links to the Europe 1940 game. The global game is awesome. This one by itself, though, seems very unfair in the Allies' favor. Still, it's fun, and a great value for the price and quality of the game.
