sturdy, still works well months later
Son bikes all over town and uses this when going into stores or stopping in a park.We LOVE:-Too fat to cut with a quick bolt cutter. a thief would probably go to the next bike if they saw how fat the metal is.-easy to open and close. just be careful not to forget the combination.WE DONT LOVE- we could not get it to stay on the bike when not in use. so my son takes a backpack specifically for water and this lock. i wish the lock on bike mechanism worked, but it never worked. he tried, my husband tried, i tried. so if you are depending on that feature, look elsewhere.-it is heavier than other locks, but that is because of the quality thickness of metal which is what makes it a good anti theft device. the weight is worth it. but it does feel like a heavy rock in the backpack.

Almost Perfect……
This lock looks as great on the bike as it is effective. The holder could be a little better and I thought about deducting a star but that would be nitpicking. It really is a great lock at a fair price.

It's genius is in its simplicity
This is the first, and probably best foldable lock that I have ever purchased. It marks off all of my personal criteria:1. Small, Compact2. Durable enough3. Combination lock4. Comes with mounting hardware for your bikeThis is a great lock, simple easy to use, does not get tangled under the bike seat or gears like other cord locks can do. Stores itself on the bike, has a heft to it that says: "oh yeah, I'm a tough bike-lock, bring it on!"My ONLY thing concerning this lock, is how the coating can come off the sides from the bike rack that you are locking on, but that is just a minor, esthetic only concern. Other than that, I would recommend this lock to protect your investment!

Feels very strong
The lock is great. The mount is a bit cheesy, but I think it will work. Wrapped my seat post with rubber friction tape first, then installed mount over the tape. I tried not to strip out the screw or the plastic strap. Not gorilla tight, but tight. No sign of it stripping out, hopefully.Very happy with the lock. I think it is good quality, secure, compact, and very handy. One question about this product was answered incorrectly above in the questions and answers section.A lady asked if the lock can be stolen off the mount. The answer given her was no, that it locks to the mount. Not so.It latches to the mount. But, all you gotta do is watch their video on the product and see that pressing the gray button unlatches it so that it can be removed from the mount. It is NOT LOCKED to the mount. In fact, it cannot be locked to the mount because wrapping it up covers the combination dial completely. There would be no way to unlock it then.Great lock.If the mount falls apart (and I don't lose the lock when the mount breaks) I will just pack the lock in a bag. No biggy. It is compact enough that wouldn't be a problem.A day or two later:Well, I moved the lock mount to different places on my bike twice until I found just the right spot for me.During the final placement, I over tightened it and stripped the plastic band. No biggy. I wrapped a wee bit of rubber friction tape around the new location, cut off about half of the plastic band, grabbed a small stainless steel hose clamp, and fixed the hose clamp right over the remaining plastic band using the remains of the plastic band as a platform for the hose clamp. Tightened it down pretty darned tight. Almost gorilla tight. No sign of the mount cracking under the pressure. Very secure. Now it is JUST RIGHT !

Versatile, secure, keyless bike lock
After trying several methods for securing my expensive e-bike I have finally found a solution that I find is versatile and easy to use. I tried a keyed folding lock but didn't want to carry another key. This strong combo lock plus a looped steel cable offer a wide range of security options for leaving my e-bike unattended. I actually carry a strong combination lock (set to the same combination) as well to provide even more flexibility. Mounting the lock to the seatpost is trivially simple and it looks good on the bike.1- Used by itself through the chainstay and rear wheel offers a good option for a quick stop because the bike weighs 60 pounds and is hard to carry.2- If I can park close enough to a fixed post/rail I loop the lock around the post as well.3- If the lock is too short to reach the post/rail I pass my cable around the post and then secure it to the bike with the folding lock that I have attached to a wheel.4- If there is no post I use the padlock to attach one end of the cable to something immovable, like a chain link fence or an eyebolt.I added a concealed Apple AirTag for the unlikely case when someone defeats all of that hardware. Then you and the police can track it down. BTW: If you can locate your stolen bike DON'T try to recover it yourself. Let the police do their job and recover it for you.I highly recommend this lock.

Jammed in the locked position
This lock was great for around 1year. I liked that it was compact and seemed very secure. On the plus side there was an attempt to steal my bike but the thieves couldn’t break through the lock itself, you could see the saw marks of their attempts but luckily for me they gave up. That evening 2 other bikes were stollen from the same spot but I was fortunate because of lock. Anyway… the reason this isn’t a 5 star review. The locked jammed while securing my bike outside my apartment. I’ve had to smash the lock to get my bike free. The code was correct but the latch mechanism had jammed, I had to hit the unlock button with a hammer for it to release. Luckily it happened at home and not while I was out or I’d have been stuck. The locking mechanism has been a little temperamental for a while but I didn’t expect it to completely lock up. It’s a shame as it has been great but I don’t trust the brand enough to purchase another one. If they can redesign the locking and releasing mechanism that would be great. Overall it’s a super secure lock, good design but I need a better release mechanism. I daren’t lock it again at this point.
