Absolute Beginners Flute Book/Online Audio

I am teaching myself how to play the flute. This book has made it quite easy to get started.

There’s a chart in the middle of the book that shows you every note and how to read it that’s exactly what I needed to figure out how to play my flute I have other books, but none of them have been helpful. This one will work amazingly recommend for anybody who’s starting out on the flute.

I absolutely love this book! I have been trying to play the flute for a number of years! I been playing the Clarinet since 6th through 12th grades. I enjoy learning new things.

The fingering chart is confusing.

Great for beginners my 9 years loves learning to play her flute.

I wonder if the publisher of this book realized the pull out FINGER CHART IS WRONG! I kept trying to follow it and couldn’t get a descent sound. I finally went on You Tube and figured it out.

Great book! HOWEVER it didn't not come with the CD!!Update: This listing as well as other people mentioned an accompanying CD to practice with, but my book did not come with a cd. HOWEVER, in the inside front cover, there is a code to access all the tracks online. Much easier to play using my phone than a cd.

I bought this book a while ago and wanted to try it out before reviewing. I was an absolute flute beginner when I bought this. I found this book to be brilliant. The CD was really helpful to ensure I was getting the right sound. A step by step introduction to the flute and tunes you learn are not the standard nursery rhyme type tunes you get in other books, these are great tunes with beautiful backing tracks. I have lessons now but this book got me to that stage.

Easy to understand and made learning to play again fun.

Bought a second hand flute from ebay - never played in my life before but thought I'd teach myself during lock-down, even though I am still working. Anyway, I am still working on my embouchure but never the less - I can play a tune!!I was supposed to have flute lessons but thought I'd make a start. I am really impressed with myself and this book!!!Easy to use and covers most of the notes, pity there wasn't a book 2

It's always tricky to choose music tutor books when you can't flick through them to see what you're getting. I bought this one for my adult daughter who is taking up the flute and was really pleased with the clear, well laid out pages with excellent photographs. It doesn't talk down to you and it takes you in gentle stages right from basics, how to hold the flute and embouchure, through learning to read the music until the last page where you can play Vivaldi's 'Spring'. An excellent buy!
