I have been trying to get my lavalier to work on my Hero 3 for some time now. This was the third adapter I tried (thanks YouTube) and it worked. I am uncertain if it nulls out the onboard mic or not, so watch where you place your hands and check for spikes in close proximity to sound sources.That being said, it looks nice, and the mic works. Tried 3 different wires and only this works with my Drift Ghost 4K+

Looked like the right size, the description said it was compatible, but it's not. Read the other reviews (I should've trusted them) this product is trash does not fit.

I use this to pull audio from a motorcycle helmet microphone into my GoPro for motovlogging, and it works great!The downside is that audio comes in as a mono channel (left ear), so it adds an extra step in editing to duplicate or pan the track to make it stereo.Overall very durable. It's survived multiple rainstorms, sand, dust, mud, and dirt!

if You’re buying to add an external mic for you GoPro this adapter does not work.

I wouldn't know right now about the quality or workmanship I haven't tested it on the road yet.. BUT I did plug it into the DRIFT Ghost X and it worked meaning that it should also work with the Ghost 4K..EDIT: It works well and the sound quality for the Drift Ghost X is exactly as we wanted it to work..

nice card for cameras that required external mic

This thing does not work at all.I had to trash 2 hours of video from my Hero4 because I had imagined that a brand new mic dongle should work right out of the package. The only audio that was caught was a heavy static sound with an occasional click and pop. Do not buy this.
