John Goold The Video Editing Handbook: For Beginners

Could do with a follow through example and a few more illustrations to explain the process
The book is very much text based and was not quite what I was looking for to edit my many hours of family footage.

Excellent resource for new or experienced video editors!
I'm a filmmaker who has taken up editing recently and this book is invaluable. As a self taught editor, I'll be using this book as a guide for all my future projects. It offers great explanations, tips and shows the step by step process of how to edit. The pictures taken right out of the video editing software are also extremely helpful. This is a great guide for filmmakers or new editors who are learning how to edit and can't afford expensive Adobe Premiere Pro classes. It's an excellent resource and I highly recommend it whether you're a novice or experienced video editor.

A booklet length YouTube video.
Everything that a basic YouTube tutorial could teach you in under an hour expanded to a short book length with an annoyingly strange horizontal size and giant font. The author’s tone might be pleasingly casual to some but it was not to my liking, much too informal “bro.”

Straight forward
A good, straight forward read with many, many kernels of knowledge that will become a part of your vocabulary, if they aren't already. If they are, it doesn't hurt to have them reinforced!

Not generic
You must purchase software associated with book. My fault because i thought it was generic.
