Western Digital is the best! I have 4 now. Never a issue! Love it!

Great product, but not the same one as in the picture.
Arrived on time, but product was not the same one that was on the picture. It's the same capacity, but in a smaller form that doesn't need a power source.

DOA
This item arrived dead on arrival. I have an older WD Easystore and wanted a companion drive. When powered up it just clicked until USB device failure error popped up. Returned without issue. Ordered a new WD MyBook 4TB WDBBGB0040HBK-NESN. I have three of these already.

Terrible Customer Service
For reference, I am on a Macbook pro. The device works great unless you are trying to go from an older OS to Big Sur. Then they want to charge you shipping to get a back up drive just so you can update the software without risking the contents of your drive being lost forever (my device is still under warranty too). Not to mention, I got kicked out of the online chat queue after waiting 45 minutes because "no representatives were available", despite the fact I could see what place I was in the line. This is not how a company should operate, especially one that makes its living in the technology world. DO NOT BUY from Western Digital.

WD Almost Never Lets Me Down.
I do a lot of video. I need a lot of storage. I have three of these connected at all times. While I have an automated backup system in place I almost never worry about anything I store on these. This most recent purchase was necessitated because of a failed Seagate drive. These days I just go with the WDs. It saves grief down the line.

Great external
very good product I purchased this because I had a best buy rewards certificate. These drives are just WD Red 5400 RPM drives. Speed test show 180 MB/s read and write.

Great Product - BUT careless handling and packing
I've been using Western Digital drives for many years. They are a great product. But hard drives are delicate. As seen here, the hard drive box itself had been dropped BEFORE it was packed - also with minimal protection. I've seen this before, and have had drives fail prematurely. I'll take my chances one more time, but next time I will return it unopened if I see any sign of poor handling. So, 5 stars for the product, but a zero for handling and packing carelessness.
