simple, good manufacturing and finish
I recommend this. One caution, the amount of threading on the rod was about a millimeter too long to fully embed inside the connector receptacle of one of my cameras. It still holds the camera with great stability as long as I screw it in tightly. However, I'd be afraid that with a lot of movement over time, the threads may wear down due to micro movements and rubbing between the camera's receptacle and the threads.I can fix this by filing down that thread slightly, to reduce the length of the threaded portion of the rod. It's aluminum, so easy to file. This way, the unthreaded part of the rod will connect up against the camera bottom, to further lock in the stabilization and prevent micro movements. For my other 2 cameras the rod's thread length made for a perfect fit. No modification is required.I expect most cameras will offer a perfect fit. The camera with the slightly too shallow receptacle is an OM System Pen E-P7.I'd say the quality and good price of this rod make it worth a try. I'm happy with it.

Great for ring light
I bought this to use with my ring light, it works great. Very sturdy. Works with all of the tripods in our house, including standard camera tripods.

Work very well helped mount my WebCam
I came up with an innovative idea so that I could do my podcast and zoom calls with better eye contact. This helped extend the WebCam down to a place where it could be easily at high-level. And also using a ball joint I can move it out of the way when I need to do regular

Check the threads
Looked fine out of the box, solid enough and the male threaded end was fine. The female insert end however was buggered a turn or two in. So the screw I was attaching this to started fine for a twist or two and then stopped. I tried a couple 1/4-20 screws and ran into the same problem. So I ended up just force threading a screw to get it fully inserted and thus permanently mated this to the screw. It was for a concept test for a product and this worked for its purpose but was useless beyond that for any further use. (Yeah I should have returned it or even gotten a tap and re-threaded the insert but I didn’t have the time…)So long story short test it out when you receive it and if it doesn’t thread fully send it back then before you screw it up further.

Terrible machine work! Metal filings left in stripped threads!
Extremely poor quality machine work on these threads, they don’t even vacuum out the metal shavings! This is my replacement order and it’s just as bad as the first. The threads are defective, you can’t screw anything in all the way, it comes stripped and janky. They didn’t even paint or sand down the metal that was cut. I’m going to try one more time to give them a chance to send one that isn’t terrible quality!

First one lasted a few months, second one lasted a few hours
These extensions are a nice way to get an insta360 x3 a little bit further away from whatever they're clamped on to. My first one lasted a few months before the male threads sheared off (not easy to remove from camera). The second ones female threads stripped out in under a day of use. Still the best choice cuz they're the only choice.
