YoLink Home Security System, Wireless Smart DIY Alarm System, with App/Email/Limited SMS Alert, 5 Pieces-Kit (Speaker Hub, Door Window Sensor, Motion Sensor, AlarmFob), 2.4GHz Wi-Fi Required

This was highly suggested to us by a friend who had used it when they cared for their elderly mother. Coupled with the YoLink Security Camera it was money well spent! I was caring for my mom with moderately severe dementia and who had a habit of wandering outside in the middle of the night. Twice I was alerted that our front door had opened and was able to get to her before she could have fallen down steps or wandered off. We live out in the country and so there are no street lights. We thought that would be enough to keep her from going outside, but that didn't stop her. Additionally, with the alarm to let me know that her bedroom door had been opened and seeing her on the camera I am quite certain it saved her life one night when she thought our basement door was her house front door. I'd hate to think what would have happened it she would have opened the door and fallen down our steps! Things that I thought about when we were raising our kids, but did not even consider when I took care of my mom. This all sounds dramatic, but this system worked great to keep us alerted and I would not hesitate to recommend it. I thought of taking off one star for ease of installation because I'm not a tech person and it took a while to get everything set up on the YoLink app. Installing the sensors and all the other things that came with the system was a breeze. Thew app just took a while, but I would strongly suggest that for added protection.

Easiest plug and play system to protect who’s coming and going. The LoRa signal exceeds expectation. Got unit placed in out buildings and it’s great. Motion, alerts when doors open and close. Just a great product with a lot of different accessories.

I like the design and quality- have quite a few different sensors. However, setting up more advanced functions like alarms beats me because the logic of the system differs from the norm. I use them with Alexa instead, but that works well. Battery and function excellent so far.

Great value, had one switch arrive DOA and another that failed but YoLink quickly sent a replacement and it’s been a few months now and everything works fine. It may have been that something happened to that initial package I received that damaged the switches but support was quick and easy and the replacements work fine. Excited to see additional products they come out with and will be adding on to my system for sure.

Over the years I've tried different sensors, to let me know when the mail arrives. Some just did not have the range, and others were finicky. I got this starter kit thinking I would use one of the door sensors, but there was no good place to mount the two parts of the door sensor to the mailbox. Far better was the motion detector. It comes with a magnet mount built in. I just joined it to the hub, and stuck the sensor on the inside back of the mailbox. The hub, which we placed in the kitchen, now announces when the mail has arrived.The app is very well implemented, and allows you to name each sensor. You can then decide how you want to be notified as to each sensor. The hub will announce, "your patio door is open," or "there is movement at your mailbox." At the same time, you can have it notify you via the app, or even send you a text message (although the text messages are limited unless you pay a fee). I see no reason to receive a text when you already receive a notification on your phone.I put the two provided sensors on a couple of my doors, to let me know if one of the grandkids head outside (or if a burglar is headed inside). This is a great way to build a monitored security system (with you being the monitor).

I do not recommend this system to work with 5G. And, tech help is very slow if no help at all with finalizing support details and feedback. I contacted support and they seemed to want to help but I get no follow up. I still cannot connect to my 5G and did not know this when purchased. I purchased the same ( I think) system at another location and it connected up fine but the internet system is different in both locations and I think that is the problem with the new location which I believe the instructions stated I was to have received a way to connect it anyway but did not find that piece with my system.

I liked everything and the application is super easy to use and I guarantee it

super simple setup, and effective reliable detection. So far I say near 100%......more importantly not 110% (i.e. you know generating false events). Very easy setup, app continues to improve (still long road) and decent price.
